Nine Inch Nails sampling Prince OK, so a lot of people know about the NIN song "Ringfinger" sampling parts of "Alphabet St".....but here's one that most people don't know of.
Head Like A Hole (Opal Mix), from the CD single, samples both "Tamborine" and the drums from "Release It" from Graffiti Bridge. Here ya go: http://www.youtube.com/wa...QaOrNqYMs0 |

Trent was a Prince fan back in the day. Sadly, since their fall-out in 1994 they don't really like each other, although Trent did attend Prince's 3121 House Party in LA.

please tell! Prince wanted Trent to remix something from the "Come" album as I recall. Trent went to the studio and Prince walked past (I'm guessing P was in a bad mood and/or didn't recognise Trent).....Prince walked straight passed him without acknowledging him. At least, that's how I recall the story going, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. |

At least, that's how I recall the story going, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. Here is the exact quotes: TRENT: "I'll tell you a funny story about Prince. I was in this studio and I heard Prince was coming in. There was a time I thought he was awesome, but what a fucking creep! The rules were, you were never to say the word 'Prince', you had to write down that symbol. You were never to look at him, or talk to him unless he approached you first, shit like that. So he shows up in a limo, wearing a fluorescent pink jumpsuit, giant hair, a cane, huge heels and a lollipop." He imitates Prince in heels trying to jive walk a four foot frame. It's funny. TRENT: "And he's wearing the worst women's perfume you've ever smelt. So he's got two giant bodyguards with him and there was nobody there who was gonna fuck with him! It turns out he wanted us to remix a track and make it harder--apparently he had Broken in his car for a long time. So then I see him at the other end of this hundred yard corridor, and there's only me and him walking towards each other. So we're getting closer, closer and...he just walks right past me! I couldn't believe it, I don't care who you are, that's bullshit." The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. Maybe Prince was headed to the loo to remove the stick embedded in his arse.. [Edited 5/25/08 12:58pm]
