I Would I Were a Careless Child

I would I were a careless child,
Still dwelling in my Highland cave,
Or roaming through the dusky wild,
Or bounding o'er the dark blue wave;
The cumbrous pomp of Saxon pride
Accords not with the freeborn soul,
Which loves the mountain's craggy side,
And seeks the rocks where billows roll.

Fortune! take back these cultured lands,
Take back this name of splendid sound!
I hate the touch of servile hands,
I hate the slaves that cringe around.
Place me among the rocks I love,
Which sound to Ocean's wildest roar;
I ask but this - again to rove
Through scenes my youth hath known before.
Few are my years, and yet I feel
The world was ne'er designed for me:
Ah! why do dark'ning shades conceal
The hour when man must cease to be?
Once I beheld a splendid dream,
A visionary scene of bliss:
Truth! - wherefore did thy hated beam
Awake me to a world like this?

I loved - but those I loved are gone;
Had friends - my early friends are fled:
How cheerless feels the heart alone,
When all its former hopes are dead!
Though gay companions o'er the bowl
Dispel awhile the sense of ill'
Though pleasure stirs the maddening soul,
The heart - the heart - is lonely still.

How dull! to hear the voice of those
Whom rank or chance, whom wealth or power,
Have made, though neither friends nor foes,
Associates of the festive hour.
Give me again a faithful few,
In years and feelings still the same,
And I will fly the midnight crew,
Where boist'rous joy is but a name.

And woman, lovely woman! thou,
My hope, my comforter, my all!
How cold must be my bosom now,
When e'en thy smiles begin to pall!
Without a sigh would I resign
This busy scene of splendid woe,
To make that calm contentment mine,
Which virtue know, or seems to know.

Fain would I fly the haunts of men -
I seek to shun, not hate mankind;
My breast requires the sullen glen,
Whose gloom may suit a darken'd mind.
Oh! that to me the wings were given
Which bear the turtle to her nest!
Then would I cleave the vault of heaven,
To flee away, and be at rest.

George Gordon, Lord Byron

Kahlil Gibran- From "The Prophet"

Then an old man, a keeper of an inn, said, Speak to us of Eating and Drinking.
And he said:

Would that you could live on the fragrance of the earth, and like an air plant be sustained by the light.
But since you must kill to eat, and rob the newly born of its mother's milk to quench your thirst, let it then be an act of worship,
And let your board stand an altar on which the pure and the innocent of forest and plain are sacrificed for that which is purer and still more innocent in man.

When you kill a beast say to him in your heart,
"By the same power that slays you, I too am slain; and I too shall be consumed.
For the law that delivered you into my hand shall deliver me into a mightier hand.
Your blood and my blood is naught but the sap that feeds the tree of heaven."

And when you crush an apple with your teeth, say to it in you heart,
"Your seeds shall live in my body, And the buds of your tomorrow shall blossom in my heart,
Amd your fragrance shall be my breath, And together we shall rejoice through all the seasons."

And in the autumn, when you gather the grapes of your vineyards for the winepress, say in your heart,
"I too am a vineyard, and my fruit shall be gathered for the winepress,
And like new wine I shall be kept in eternal vessels."
And in winter, when you draw the wine, let there be in your heart a song for each cup;
And let ther be in the song a remembrance for the autumn days, and for the vineyard, and for the winepress.

Kahlil Gibran 1883-1931 The Prophet published in 1923.

Around the World

In a village
Beneathe a tree
A young boy sits.

In a house
On her knees
A woman prays

In a car
On a highway
A man steers

In a highschool
At a desk
A teen writes

In a tree
Upon a nest
A bird waits

In a church
On the platform
A preacher smiles

I have been around the world
In a way
In a tear. T

In vein this Love
Is true Blood Blue
A Violet Kiss

when i was sleeping in your back yard
you came to me in a dream
i have never seen such anger
still GOD CARES for U

when i knocked on your door the next year
to show you what i had done
your bouncher tossed me out by the ear
still GOD CARES for U

when on 777 you brought out Wendy
my tears could not stop from falling
what you didn't know was i was being reborn
still GOD CARES for U

i could go on and on and on
but the point of this poem is
the reason i am here
GOD CARES for U

I have to share this with Prince...It is important Prince know that I have designed a new style of poetry. Because it will certainly filter into society for writer's in practice.

The style is called..."The syllabic Stair style." I would like for this to be a children's book. It is called, "Treasure."

Treasure
Diamonds and Gold
Were stored beneathe the ship
The jewels were meant to be for sale
But they were never sold within this tale

The Sea
The story told
At once the tide had ripped
Upon the sea a sudden gale
The lightning struck the sail and soon it hailed

Danger
They lost control
The ship began to tip
The water rose the scattered pails
The captain told the crew to start to bail

Over
The storm unfolds
The captain took a dip
The treasure's sale had failed
The captain swam inside a pirate's jail. T

The rule is syllables at 2, 4, 6, 8, 10...On four flights.

On Trial

If teasing me was a crime
The judge would nail you everytime
Now this Prince Mister
Is Court in time.

Does the Muse hear the Music?
Sit down and have your thought.
On a telepathic throw,
You know what I've caught.

Where do you go visiting?
If it isn't in my stream?
I ponder the next road you choose,
Since it's the road that you believe.

To save me from delirium,
Is why I'm in this rush...
Take my feathers, my questions to you,
I bow, cause' your'e the judge. T.

Selections from THE POETICAL WORKS of Robert Browning, Second Series
London, Smith, Elder, & Co., 15 Waterloo Place
1886, (from my Great-Grandmother)

APPARITIONS

I
Such a starved bank of moss
Till, that May-morn,
Blue ran the flash across:
Violets were born!

II
Sky--what a scowl! of cloud
Till, near and far,
Ray on ray split the shroud:
Splendid, a star!

III
World--how it walled about
Life with disgrace
Till God's own smile came out:
That was thy face!

SKY'S LOVE

I RODE THIS TRAIN THROUGH THE SKY
FELT LIKE I WAS FLOATIN'
THROUGH ANOTHER TIME

I RODE THIS TUNNEL
OF LIGHTENING SHOWERS
PURPLE FLOWERS
THUNDERING TOWERS
OF GOD'S POWER
WAS BEFORE MY EYES

WAS I GOING TO FLY THROUGH THE NIGHT ?
OR LIGHT THAT BLINDS
YOUR CURIOUS MIND
FROZEN WITH FEAR OF THE WORST KIND

A RAINBOW WRAPS IT'S COLORS AROUND ME
AS IT DROPS MY TEARS TO THE GROUND
IT REMINDS US ALL

LOVE IS A BLINDNESS THAT LIVES WITHIN
A COLOR DOESN'T MATTER AT ALL....

Your so fine, your always on my mind, I would give billions of dimes for one ounce of your time,

You make me want to commit a crime for u, how does such a love like this continue to brew? If u only knew-- I tell u my whole crew knows the love I feel 4 u,

Its not just a physical thing, its the knowledge u bring that makes my heart sing,

Your not aware of my existence because of the distance that is between my dream of meeting u face 2 face,

Yarning 4 u 2 grace me with your presence-- 2 me u are the one, u hold the gun that is loaded with my hopes and dreams,

So take an aim and release my hopes and dreams of meeting u and havin' u greet me with your warm and vibrate smile,

I would fly miles just 2 see your smile, your skin is so flawless only u can draw this feelin' that I have when I see u, it makes my heart rise 2 the ceilin' of my chest,

Come on now I can past the test, I will give it my best just say yes,

Take me so I can infiltrate your mind with the wisdom and knowledge I have gain from this grind,

I promise I will be kind cause your so fine, I just need 1 minute of your time, so I can stimulate your mentality, I will make your dreams a reality,

Your musical flow makes my face glow, its like the trees blowin' a cool breeze through my hair, no other musician can compare,

I just want u 2 share your melodies that come from within and let them extend and whisper in my ears and calm every one of my fears my dear,

Can u hear my heart singin'? Its so loud if you just listen it will have your ears ringin',

U touch my soul with your singin' your so unique and complex, its not just about sex, I just anticipate what u will sing next and how u will teach me that divine text,

U make me take a journey down my soul's lane to search deep within me that is how u win me,

So I ask once again from deep within--can I have just one minue of your time?

Here follows a bad poem but it gets to the point.

Prince we are feeling low
Put on a good show
Put it on in many countries
so many of us can see
the wonder that is you live

I don't like corny letters
I'm sure you'd write something 100 times better
This is just a joke at times
playing with a few rhymes

I promise if you do more gigs around the world
I'll never write a bad poem again
I just want to see some more of you live
I bet all us fams feel the same

Lol! again sorry for the pathetic poem, but please do a world tour and come back to the UK too smile

I said a prayer for you today
And know God must have heard.
I felt the answer in my heart
Although he spoke no word!

I didn't ask for wealth or fame
(I knew you wouldn't mind).
I asked him to send treasures
Of a far more lasting kind!

I asked that he be near you
At the start of each new day;
To grant you health and blessings
And friends to share your way!

I asked for happiness for you
In all things great and small.
But it was for his loving care
I prayed the most of all!

Prince

My body will be your instrument..
I wanna hear the music that you can make..
Come and play me now..
Baby, please don't hesitate..
A symphony of love is what we're gonna make..
Our love will be the greatest song for all time.

Where Am I?

In a fraction of a second,
I have seen that a second, is born.
And something black will swallow it whole.
I have felt the world, on a metronome,
Inclined to another song,
That is captured by the sky.
I hear footsteps that walk beside love,
And I listen to them disappear.
I observe, I feel, I listen.
All the while, I have faith,
That love is just sitting here. T
