If you were the one person in the world that he would listen to... If you were the one person in the world that he would listen to on how to hang it all up, would you:
-Suggest he fade away in time with no fanfare, big to-do or set date (just release cd's less and less frequent til he's gone)? -Or would you suggest he makes a type of "bookend" event/cd? If you did recommend a bookend, what would it be? My idea is for a final multimedia box set and movie. Box set title: "With Love, Sincerity and Deepest Care...My Life With U I Share" (for those that don't know, this is a lyric from his 1st song on his 1st album) Includes: -7 cds of digitally cleaned up, unreleased music from the vault. -7 dvd's of unreleased music videos, skits and any other film/vid projects. -7 cd-rom discs, each has a full length interview conducted by a peer, critic, fan, etc...and he doesn't get to provide the questions they will ask. Movie title: "Prince" Plot: A concert film documentry that is mostly a compilation of performances and after shows thru out his career. Interlaced with interviews and tv show performances and apperences (American Bandstand, Muppet Show, UTCM contest, etc). The final shot of the movie is the song For You playing as if an echo in a large empty space, with crowd cheers, as we see his sillouette standing in the door way of Paisley Park, looking around and then turning off the lights as we go to black. Then dead silence except for a faint "we had fun, didn't we" as the end credits start to roll.

i'd try to convince him to finally go archival - hire some folks to repackage all his old albums and to help him remaster all the recordings, get some folks in to market the reissue properly, and then suggest that he just sit on his butt and let his legacy keep on making him money without him having to lift a dainty little finger. of course, i know this will never happen as long as WB has a stake in his masters, but a boy can dream.

If I was the one person that he would listen to-- that in itself is an interesting thought! On any subject I suppose I would just want to express the importance of doing what makes him happi and content as well as not to forget to trust people. In my humble opinion... when you put love and trust into any equation, you won't be disappointed at the finished product.
Again, in my opinion.. I really believe that he will never 'hang' it all up, simply because of his sheer interest in music and other items. As far as I can tell, it seems as if his mind is always working.. always creating.. and I seriously doubt that denying that blessing would ever be in his future plans. What would he do? Music lives within him.. he even walks in a rhythm, and not just cuz he's cool either I'm sure that whatever he decides, will always cause some people to love it, and others to hate it. With every person who shares positivity unfortunatly there might be three others who bash it. So I'm not sure that he can create a work that will satisfy everyone.. in which case, doing what is special for him, is the best way to go. When it brings his heart joy to listen and look at a finished product, that should be the one that gets let go. If it's going to be a big production, I have little doubt that he would work harder than he ever has in his life.. all for the sake of doing his blessings justice. If I was listened to.. that's what I would express-- support, happiness, and a clean slate to run ideas past. thank you happi

I honestly don't see Prince ever hanging it all up... I don't think he'd ever want to stop, it's what he is... nice idea though
