You're not alone there. I remember some reviewers saying the same back in '86 I think when he played London. I think it's the expressive face.

Here's a picture of a young Charlie: http://www.discoverchapli..._l-en.html I agree with the expressive face idea. I can see how he could look like Chaplin.

Make that three. Not only the love of younger women. When Charly was made up they do look alike. Charly was a handsome man with a lot of charisma, just like Prince. He could do a lot of different things, very talented, like Prince. Was very passionate with his work/ideas etc etc. Prince deliberately copied Charlotte in his video The One so he knew he looked like him in a way. And I guess Prince liked Charlies movies, UTCM and The One are proof.

Totally agree!
I just happened to watch 'The Circus' last month with my mum, which Chaplin directed and played in - [it's his last silent film, made in 1928 - the year my mum was born], and his mimics, facial expressions, fast-paced gait and quick movements, the way he moves especially... it all had me thinking initially, 'god where have I seen this before?' And then suddenly it hit me: in Prince! And when I had a closer look, I realized Chaplin's make-up and flat, close to the skin hairstyle really reminded me of Prince's in Under the Cherry Moon. I don't know if all this is intentional - if Prince actually studied him [but we know he is a film buff:)], but anyway, good observation! 19Irresistible87 said: does prince kinda remind of u of charlie chaplin in some ways, i kno they are 2 separate different people in different time periods but there is something they have in common, i just can't seem 2 figure what it is besides the fact they were in2 datin n marryin younger women i jus hope im na the only 1 who noticed this

Back then they had only 3 channels but overloaded with Prince. I remember that I had conversations with my grandparents about Prince looking like Chaplin. My grandfather was a huge fan of him (Charlie not Prince ) and there was always a movie of him somewhere and we laughed about the similarity. I don't know if I liked Charlie that much because he was talented and funny (which I truly find!) or because he reminded me that much of Prince. I guess the last... You mean these pics? This period and this photosession are probably the worst period of his life, imo that is. He looked 10 years older and at least 1 foot shorter Mani mani...
