Which Album would you most like Prince to Remake? Influenced by the Jughead hating thread, if there was one album Prince decided to remake with new versions of the songs, what would you pick?
For me, it would be Come. I never liked that version of the title track (Come version#3 is my favourite) and I damn near had kittens when I heard how he butchered Zannalee. I'd do Come/EndorphineMachine/Space all as one, and have the later version of Loose. "Had to get off the boat so I could walk on water..."

I love the album but I would love to see how he would change or destroy some of the songs... Purple Rain would be interesting... Prime aka The Kid

None-they are timeless just the way they are I would like him to put out another edition of RBC without that annoying voice

I'd love to hear a Rainbow Children CD with totally different songs, lyrics and attitude [Edited 5/20/08 15:42pm]

Like adding the acoustic to Forever in My Life, like he did in the movie. But some songs, like Adore or Housequake would be pretty hard to improve upon. My Legacy

If he'd labelled it as "Chopped & Screwed" it would have been a big hit down south! "Had to get off the boat so I could walk on water..."

5 years hard labor Very good point. But on the other hand, some of what he did on the Versace Experience was an improvement, and he is great at coming up with different live arrangements of his songs. "Had to get off the boat so I could walk on water..."

Like many of you have stated, I don't want 2 c him redo any of his albums. Remember, he was considering re-recording the "hits". Everyone trashed him so bad that the idea was nixed.
For me, each album is like a story and each song is is a chapter in the complete book. I know that may sound silly, but trying to re-write or recreate something is a horrible idea. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Emancipation
Without Kirky J and the crap/tinny/plastic sounding production. There were a bunch of songs with potential on there but the overall blandness in production and totally uninspired plastic beats killed it deader than dead.

I have to preface this by saying I usually hate it when he takes the keyboard part out of a song and replaces it with horns but there's one album where that actually works--Dirty Mind. Mostly I'm thinking of the version of "Head" he played during the Lovesexy shows. It would be interesting to hear Uptown, Do It All Night and Party Up reworked with the bass thumpin' and the horns blastin' like that.

after hearing the rock version of 'Anotherloverholenyohead' i'd really like a rock version of Parade, i love the album but there is so little guitar on it. I know it sounds crazy but there you go!

I'd like to hear him redo LOVESEXY b/c I think that album has great songs that were shortchanged by shitty production. I'd like to hear a raw version of LOVESEXY. the music knows what your motives are when you are making it
listen to The Replacements - its good for the soul

I can only think of one album:
Emancipation. On those three disks there is enough strong material (in terms of songwriting / composition) for a great single CD. Unfortunally it is surrounded by way too much filler and uninspired material, and the best compositions are mostly spoiled by bland, plastic production (thats not only Kirky J's fault, i mean, WHO did choose him as a co-producer? right...) But i think, if he had decided to use the best 12 - 13 songs, and produce those songs in a sober, direct style (aka Sign of the Times) it could have been one of his best albums from the nineties.

I think that Prince should remake, "The Rainbow Children," with Steven Hawkins, demanding that hater's take your seats, outside of the room, and make the album so that when "The Everlasting Now." comes on, It blows, the speaker'z up in your living room....So that we can help the Rain, "BOSE!." "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

Aah, others artists albums too?
I would like to hear him remake Goodbye Jumbo by World Party (aka Karl Wallinger), i dont think he will better it, but it could turn into something like 'Sign of the Times part 2'. When it comes to the Beatles albums, i choose Revolver above Sgt. Pepper. 'Pepper' might be more experimental and influential, but overall i consider Revolver their best album. I am curious to hear what Prince would do with the songs on that album. Finally i would like to hear Prince cover 'Tutu' by Miles Davis, alltough its a strong album (with some Prince-like elements allready) i think Marcus Millers production has dated quite a lot. It would be nice to hear those songs in another production (keeping the original trumpet-parts by Miles of course).

Prince album....1999:- The drumming via drum-machine sounds a bit dated, so I'd like to hear those songs played "live" via the studio, Prince getting loose on the bass, really funking up Lets Pretend We're Married, DMSR, Something In The Water....and getting on the acoustic or piano for another version of Red Corvette.
Album by other artist:- Pink Floyd's The Wall....what a mental coming together that would be! And to have Prince explore an album that looks long and hard at what it means to me a famous rock star, that would be interesting to say the least! www.filmsfilmsfilms.co.uk - The internet's best movie site!
