I am new to the org and just wanted to share my missed times to share near Mr. Nelson.

1. When "I wanna be your lover" was hot on the charts, I was a local record (Rays records)store buying 45's with my friend, and swear he (Prince) was there for promotional reasons. I never said anything and always look back on that time with a question mark.

2. I was working at a well known hotel and Prince had just built Paisley Park, I wanted a tour of it, and called(from work(?) and said I had a group and wanted to possibly record there.....I got a call back to my job from a Paisley Park Rep...I was blown away but had to fess up that I really didnt have a band (no group of course)but they were so nice.

3. I attended a concert in my hometown, and on the radio they said after the concert Prince was gonna be at a local club for an after party...I jokedto my sister "yeah right, He's gonna be at club Egypt"...well I always told everyone before I died I wanted to go to Egypt, and that I always wanted to sit close to Prince while he played music-----I didnt go, and yes He was there.

The point to my post is 1.It's always good to speak! 2. Never try to be someone your not. 3. Live your dreams!!!!

1. During the Detroit soundcheck for the ONA tour, Prince walked directly in-between my sister and me. He was literally inches away from me - in fact his bodyguard gently parted us to make a path for Prince to walk through. I think back wishing I had said something, even just a "hello".

2. I wanted desperately to fly to Vegas and see a 3121 show (VIP). I waited and waited to see if my girlfriend could get a weekend off. She never did, and I never went. I really wish I had flown out there alone or found another concertgoer.

I've gone there a few times a year since I was about 3.

chocolate1, if this was in Philly, yes. that's the concert. This girl with a tight denim dress got on stage dancing real freaky, and Prince ran to the other side of the stage saying " this girls gonna get me arrested!" that was the best show!!!

I think she had on a thong.....I just remember a denim dress.....and she was very excited to be up there dancing. at first I thought it was staged, but His reaction is was made it really funny to me. anyhow, you never said if you are talking about Philly?

I live in NJ, but I go to shows in NY and PA, mostly- since he's only played NJ a few times.

I've been close enough to touch a few times.
DNA lounge in S.F. twice. Once he knelt on the stage in front of me to solo less than three feet away. Directly in front of me. I resisted the urge to touch him because he was playing the guitar.
On a staircase at another club in S.F.
At the Fillmore he walked past and heard me admonishing some women screaming at him. ( I knew them and they were all fans who'd seen him plenty of times before- I thought they were being ridiculous and Prince looked embarrassed for them.)
At a club in Vegas where I walked right past him while he was doing the soundcheck. He smiled at me later when I was chillin and realized I'd just walked past him. I was too cool to go back.
Once he looked like he wanted to invite me onstage but I was wearing my Cleveland Cavalier jeans.
Not counting limo entrances and exits where I've seen him . . .
