Doing a presentation about the org Could someone please post that picture of Prince (Lovesexy era perhaps?) with the loud make-up (yellow eye-shadow and such) the hat and the blue background? I might need it for a project. Thank you.

![]() Nurse Thanks!! But em... is there a bigger version of it, the first one? Otherwise, do you or anyone else know how to enlargen pictures, if they're not big enough? It's for a Power Point presentation. [Edited 5/19/08 14:30pm]

Btw, maybe I shouldn't say this... but the presentation is gonna be about this place plus Prince & the Web sheriff etc. Any orgers who want to be mentioned? [Edited 5/19/08 15:10pm]

Any chance that there will be something about it published online/that we can have a peep?... VenusBlingBling said: nurseV said: Well, actually I think I've figured out how to do it. man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Any chance that there will be something about it published online/that we can have a peep?... Yes it's for uni and it's a so called pecha kucha. 20 slides and 20 seconds of text per slide. It's nothing public, just for my one class so you don't have to be afraid

What kind of university offers a class like this?
I tremble for our future. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I tremble for our future. Pecha kucha is a form invented by 2 architects and used for presentations and pitching new projects. That remark was kind of insulting. I've chosen Prince and the org because it's supposed to be personal and my reflections and thoughts. Prince is THE perfect "object" for what I'm studying, someone you can write great academic papers on. . [Edited 5/20/08 11:48am]

Thanks for the info VenusBlingBling.
I personally would be a little hesitant to tackle Prince for a personal project, so much has been written about him already... but I found the Org as a topic of study really interesting. That's why I asked about it. It's quite a phenomenon:).. and I assume it hasn't been studied/examined much. Compared to other online fan communities, I find it has some cool features and it's running very smoothly imo. Anyway, good luck with your presentation, and I'm glad I've learned about 'pecha kucha'. Thanks, and no problem I'm aware of of the fact that there has been a lot of writing done about Prince, but at the same time I also know that at least no one in my class is going to do anything involving Prince and therefore my thing will stand out. And as you said, the Org, is probably not a usual topic which makes it even better and more interesting for the others to hear about. There's a lot of interesting things to say about fan communities and Prince fans. How does it work, what do people talk about, how does it effect the artist, why are people fans...? And so much more. Now this specific assignment is not going to be a mayor thing, I only have exactly 6 min and 40 sec to do the presentation and it's supposed to be like an essay so therefore it HAS to be personal and a reflection of my own thoughts. It will have to be very superficial and basic, but perhaps one could do a thorough paper on it some other time. Since it's university I obviously also have to do some name-dropping and "throw in" different intellectuals. [Edited 5/21/08 11:32am]

True, there's a plethora of topics & issues to choose from. That's probably what will be the hardest - how to keep it concise.
And later on, yes, a thorough paper, or next: a book about the Org! You would be well-qualified to tackle the project! Btw, if you are still looking for experts on the topic - MIT's Comparative Media Studies department does loads of work on online fan communities [http://cms.mit.edu] VenusBlingBling said: Flo6 said: Thanks for the info VenusBlingBling.
