D&P. No question. It has Gett Off, one of my fave Prince songs ever. But also, I think this one gets a lot of undue flack because of Jughead. But the good tunes outweight the crappines of JH...Thunder, Willing & Able, Cream, Walk Don't Walk, Money Don't Matter, Instatiable.

MJ lost me after Bad...

Oddly enough the only 2 tracks on Dangerous I dislike are the 2 biggest chart hits: Black or White and Heal The World. Otherwise it's one of my all time fav albums and it's just really special to me.

Diamonds & Pearls - it's great when it's good, but I find it a bit patchy. It's not one of my favourite Prince albums.

D&P because I am a hardcore Prince fan and only a casual MJ fan.

If you skip (or remove from the playlist) Jughead and Push then every other track is excellent!
'I loved him then, I love him now and will love him eternally. He's with our son now.' Mayte 21st April 2016 = the saddest quote I have ever read! RIP Prince and thanks for everything.

Dangerous Diamonds & Pearls
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

can't say I ever heard Dangerous all the way through.

In retrospect, D&P is probably Prince's first "meh" album for its very conservative approach to production and by-the-number's arrangements. It forshadowed alot of what came afterwards.

Romeoblu

Both are good albums.

I'd have to go with Diamonds And Pearls. Thunder,Pop Daddy, Diamonds And Pearls, Cream, Willing And Able, Gett Off, Walk Don't Walk, Push are all great. I even don't mind Jughead.

The deciding factor would be Dangerous has the horrible Heal The World on it.

I actually think Heal The World is one of the worst songs I've ever heard. I hate it. I hate the horrible into the whole thing is sickening.

The rest of Dangerous is really pretty good, I love Jam, Why U Wanna Trip on Me, Remeber The Time, I can't let her get away, In The Closet. In fact the first half of the album is tremendous.

Oddly enough, the only two songs I liked on Dangerous were "Who Is It" and "I Will Be There". Although I liked Teddy Riley alot, I wouldn't class his music in the same category as Prince's. That New Jack Swing just doesn't compare to real music. Diamonds & Pearls all the way baby.

I have 2 pick Dangerous for "Remember The Time" alone. That song is one of my top favs of all time.

D&P is not my favorite P album, but it is good....especially since it was the follow-up to Graffiti Bridge (which I thought was HORRIBLE overall).

Why 'should' Prince be compared so often to Michael Jackson?

I know, there are quite a lot of people here who love both artists, but IMO Michael is an entertainer in the first place, and Prince foremost a musician.

And, yes, i admit i am prejudiced about it, but I place the artist Prince higher then Michael the entertainer.

Its like comparing apples to pears.

IMO it would be better to compare, for instance:

The White album from the Beatles VS Sign of the Times by Prince (both sprawling, very diverse double albums).

Computer Games from George Clinton VS 1999 or The Black album by Prince (all three 'hard', semi-electronic funk-albums)

Vespertine by Bjork VS Parade by Prince and the Revolution (both very original, hard to pinpoint, creative albums using orchestral arrangements and avantgarde elements)

I didn't buy Dangerous but I bought D&P the day it was released. D&P is far superior. I picked up Dangerous years later in a used bin for $3. Teddy Riley did a good job but all his songs had the same beat and the long songs got repetitious. Will You Be There is a masterpiece but the rest of the album is boring

Dangerous by far, i really detest most of D&P, though i thought it was brilliant when it first came out. Tony M's ramblings get on my nerves to this day. confused

People comparing Dangerous with Diamonds and Pearls, have lost the essence.

Michael Jackson is a pop-star, a shallow, insecure guy trying to please with his music.

Prince is a bit weird too, but on a creative, musical level he is so much further then some child-abuse victim like Michael, putting on an ugly, plastic face to hide behind.....

To put it straight: shallow people linking Prince to 'musicians' like Michael Jackson, George Michael, Janet Jackson or Kylie Minogue, havent got the slightest clue....

Prince, in essence, learns from Sly's and George's music, grasps the music of The Beatles and Frank Zappa, is way deeper and more honest then the chilmolestor called Michael Jackson, or the superficial followers of George Michael (way too easy and slick) or Kyle Minoque (only shortminded gays, stubborn ones, being affraid of opening up) defend nobodies.

Interesting, both pandered to the top-40. Neither album shows the artist at his best. That said, I preferred Dangerous more at the time it was out, but tracks from D&P are much more likely to be in my playlist nowadays.

So, D&P for the longevity.
"What kind of fuck ending is that?"
