Prince on iTunes Has anyone noticed how weirdly Prince's albums are labeled on iTunes? The entire Batman album is labeled "Explicit" (so are The Symbol Album and Graffiti Bridge), but Dirty Mind and Controversy don't have any label. Oh, and on Around the World in a Day, "Pop Life" is called Explicit. There are more odd ones; just throwing out some highlights. I just found that all funny and thought I'd share.

I don't have iTunes Twiki...However, that is interesting. It sounds like someone upstairs at iTunes is a little confused... "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

Purple Rain is marked explicit, too. All of it.

If you play the sample of "Sister," you can hear a 30-second snippet that includes "A blowjob don't mean blow" and "Incest is everything it's said to be." Not that I'm complaining. I'm just finding it amusing.

I suspect the reason Dirty Mind and Controversy aren't labeled as "explicit" is that the designation was not in use when those albums were released. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Not really. Dirty Mind had a disclaimer on the cassette that said it contained strong language. I've never seen it on the cd or lp, but definitely on the cassette. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

What I don't like is that they skipped all his album in between Come and Planet Earth. That sucks. They do have his many of his greatest hits albums and The Vault, but I'm talking about albums with at the time new material. They had Musicology, but it looks like they took it down.
