Come on now I love my Auntie Prince, but cool she is not nor has she ever been. But the PR era has to be her "nerdgeekiest" moment. Her and the kids really look like the pack of nerds from every school all grown up and pretending to be musicians. I swear there must be a pic floating around of P sleeping in head gear on a tour bus and everyone else sitting around playing Dungeons and Dragons.

Her and the kids really look like the pack of nerds from every school all grown up and pretending to be musicians. I've always seen this TOTALLY different. I believe P's image during the PR tour was him simply paying homage to those who had influenced him. P VISUALLY, on this tour, was made up of 3 cats; Hendrix, Sly & Little Richard (era 1973). From the hair on down to the pants. He intentionally set out to evoke these 3 cats, visually. All of the clothes P wore on that tour came staright out of Hendrix, Stone's and Richard's closets. So therefore, P's band, The Revolution, echoed what Prince of course was doing. I never saw it as "pretending". Again, in Prince's clothing on that tour, Prince was paying homage to the black greats that came before him. And he wanted everyone who was hip to these cats, to see that. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

It didn't get into what I mentioned in the above post untill they went out on tour. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

I wonder if the camera crew and others around were like "what the f*** is this fool wearing?" He's going out around town looking like this? The clothes from LoveSexy and the make-up from the mid- 90's were just bad.... Prime aka The Kid

Imagine all those soccer Hooligans walking by that just visited the game on sunday... ps. Notice Prince and women on heels, in the grass!

And ehm, btw, I actually never saw the nerdgeek in Prince. I always found him to be cool and completely on top of things.
Is Prince cool? Is money green? Except in the picture above...

He was/is a music nerd pulling all his influences and obsessions together. At that time even though he wasn't green he was still this young man figuring things out, so he didn't really own it yet. It was more like musician drag.

How could he get mad if brotha's teased him? I wonder if he looks back and say to himself...."What was I doing?" Prime aka The Kid
