the Long Version saves it.the Regular Version seems kind of Ok overall.the Longer Version with Mico on Guitar&The Horns add some Life too it IMHO. mistermaxxx

you gotta hear wendy and lisa's version of this...they did it live during one of their tours..
wendy opens it by pointing out *they* wrote the song with a "friend"...and then dedicate it to this special person... cool...

Hella song!
It ranks # 4 in my all time favorite Prince songs... 1. Hot Thing 2. Purple Rain 3. Let's Go Crazy 4. MOUNTAINS 5. The Cross 6. U GOT THE LOOK 7. Electric Chair 8. Bambi 9. Last December 10. Anna Stesia

Ironically, when this was released as a single (after the glorious "Kiss"), it killed the momentum of the 'Parade' album stone dead. The public just did not go for it in a big way at all. Still, "Mountains" is an enduring testament of how brilliant Prince and The Revolution could be together i the studio, bouncing ideas off each other.
Oh, and the production was great too! "You don't frighten us, English pig dogs. Go and boil your bottoms, sons of a silly person."

"Love Will Conquer If You Just Belive...(Oh Yeah!!)"
Good song...not a huge fav from the album, though. I really like "Life Colud B So Nice". The segue from "Girls and Boys" will make you just wanna "Party Up" for real!! Tina (~!~)

The coolest song off of Parade, IMHO.
I've been listening to it all morning, while watching "Monk." I love the dueling/harmony jazz guitar runs near the end of the 12" version.
