What bakground songs can you recommend for a party?

Okay heres the thing,

I want to have a good selection of Prince music at my bash but dont want to alienate all the peeps coming who dont really listen to him or even like his stuff - i know, why do have friends like that??? -

anyhows, I find some if not a lot of his music HAS to be listened to in that I cant stand other noise around at the time its playin.

So what tracks would be good for the start like background music and then i can play the more funky dance stuff later?

any ideas gratefully accepted so far i have in my playlist:

2morrow and da bang

only cos I was listening to crystal ball today.

Some intrumentals would suffice. Like "Alexa De Paris", "Venus De Milo" Maybe something from NEWS. Good Luck.

What about some of the longer jams off Rainbow Children like Everlasting Now (or live version off ONA)? Quite a lot of it is the band just being funky, not overly 'princey' (ie. no screaming!!!)
You might not like the taste but I'm still gonna stick your face in this FUNK
