CrozzaUK said: OK, why do people dislike this song??? ... Also, why didn't he release the Holy River as the first single from emancipation? Its much better than Betcha By Golly Wow, and it's his own composition.
None of them are bad songs, just soft & fluffy like a bunny wabbit :O I never met you, but I LOVE you & I will forever!! Thank you for being YOU - my little Princey, the best to EVER do it

I don't see anything wrong with this song, it certainly isnt Prince's worst song. The remixes are great musically.

'TMBGITW' is a decent little song, but that's about it.It's just not really that exciting. His vocal delivery is vibrant and soulful, but the song itself is mediocre. As someone pointed out,it's very "Babyface-ish" and could have been done by almost any R&B male singer at the time.
The video isn't that great either.Prince looks WAY too androgynous in that video, with a silly Liza Minnelli hairdo and too much eyeliner!

I love the song - It has one of my fave P vocal moments. Yeah it is commercial but that is no dirty word to me. Not one of his most original or startling songs but a great single.
Probably doesn't play it much as it was obviously written for Mayte and that memeory is bound to be a little fresh still. Crap video - but apparently there was a much bigger production planned - got shelved due to the weather if memory serves me (something i read in Slave to the Rhythm). Great that he got it out on his own and went to No.1 but then he ruined his momentum by relesasing Come which was the first album that nobody thought was any good (except fans of course -so don't bother fuming). If he had left that sorry little album on the shelves and released TGE followed by Dolphin as a single the whole name change period could have been a lot less distressing. Sorry - i am rambling - I'll piss off now:)

I really liked it in 1994, but it doesn't hold up all that well today.
