PrintableI have never broken up with someone over prince but i can c both sides of the coin per se. whether or not the ladies on the org r very serious about their adoration of prince, some of y'all r down right scary and worship over a man that u will never meet and fawn over saying the things u would do 2 him etc. so imagine if ur partner/husband etc is seeing u fawn over prince but u don't give them the same or not even half of the affection 2 them that u do over prince. how would that make them feel?
now the same can b said 4 the fellas that fawn over female celebrities. this i can relate 2 since there were times my x and i would b watching wrestling and a certain female came on the tv and i would make my comments and i could tell, she didn't appreciate it. so in the end, it's okay 2 have a like 4 an entertainer, just b mindful of the person ur with that would like the same type of attention u give 2 a photo, music, or film.  man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81 | |

I wouldn't call this story a break-up because WE WERE NEVER TOGETHER Last year, there was a guy who found me thru Facebook who seemed interested in my work... turns out he was interested in me as well 
We talk on AIM for months (keep in mind that I was just getting in2 Prince at the time, so naturally I mentioned him quite a bit... especially since one of my works was inspired by him)... After that, when we'd talk on AIM, he was psychoanalyzing me... and I was always speaking my mind much like I do here... the timing was all wrong. It could have worked pre-Prince. Later, it seemed like he was interested in a relationship outside friendship. I didn't think he understood how I feel about Prince at all 
And I sure couldn't  chill with the music with the thoughts of him saying that I say that I agree with some of Prince's views on politics and religion.
Long story short, he thought when we hung out, I wasn't being as open as I am on AIM and that I had this issue of not being able to express myself openly in person. Annoyed the hell outta me
Finally, a couple of Facebook messages later, he said "there's no chemistry between us" and hadn't heard from him since. Well, DUHH! I wanted nothing to do with him. I didn't like him more than a friend at all
All because of Prince. Truth be told, I'm off the market for now while I figure out the kind of person I am inside and out. But my guy had better be a fan of Prince and like his music just as much as I do. Another thing that I'm very picky about but hey, at the time, Prince was the newest and biggest thing going on in my life. How was I supposed 2 know something like this was gonna happen?
And if its all the same, I'd rather forget it ever happened 
I've already had bad luck with guys b4 Prince came along.

my husband isn't a prince fan, and sometimes, i think he doesn't fully understand my love of prince. however he has never made me feel bad about it. and he's very open to going to a prince concert, so i hope i'm able to take him soon in the future, maybe he'll become a fan? who knows?
the thing is that you can't become too overboard with prince when you are in a relationship, there is a point when you can become too crazy over him (like a stalker) you have to stay grounded in reality. [Edited 5/8/08 13:00pm] | |
