Depends in your taste. When Graffity Bridge came out, it was certainly one of my immediate faves.

Definitely one of the better things about Graffiti Bridge.

I always liked "Elephants and Flowers" okay enough when I'd hear it on the CD. But when I heard it from within the context of the movie, and saw the visuals, I caught the rhythm even better. I LOVE that song.

I like this song. From the first listen. Perhaps I forced myself because I needed to find SOMETHING on GB to love.

At any rate, My favorite line is "On a crowd of naked bodies stripped down to their very souls."

This recalls an idea in The Ladder: "the love of God's creation will undress you."

I remember being angry when Lenny stole that line and stripped the subtlety and brillance of it for the chorus of that hideous song he did with Sean Combs: "Strip down to your soul."


I used to love Prince lyrics. Apparently he was in a hynoptic trance that allowed him to come up with really reflective lines -- unlike now.

truly awesome song! still wish he'd a put graffiti bridge out as just a "prince" album without all the guests . would'a been one of his best albums, imo . the outtake version of this song is as good as the one he released, all raspy-voiced and junk . both versions though!
