ok, in all seriousness, i cannot explain enough how much i agree with that. it's really annoying when a thread is posted and someone is asking for an opinion (?) but apparently doesn't want any opinions other than a specific one they are seeking...?

confused

Seriously. Shouldn't the title be a statement and not a question. I mean, what the fuck is this? Jeopardy?

Momentum of the song....how the song moves u, Why did Prince write a song about a lonely computer feeling the blues....hmmm....could it be that we are all wired to find our true loves? relationships that let you down are good for tears of saddness, but true love brings pink joy, and purple tears...maybe.

i disagree with ur answer.

Okay...I don't always claim 2 be right...we are just having a discussion...Anyone's opinion can add to mine at any given day, and I will incorporate that into my thinking the second time around...How do u feel about the song?

Twinkly1

The blue screen of death (BSOD), is the informal name given by users to the Windows general protection fault (GPF) error. Named in honor of the error's dreaded display image of white text on a blue background, the BSOD is generated by the operating system when it has suddenly terminated with an error. The system locks up and must be rebooted.

Without God(Love) we crash. The only fix is to reboot or regain spiritual delight.

I suppose it went over my head pplrain...why? I see the righteousness in computer blue in a Godly way...and I also see it, in a coupled way...as in Noah's ark...and Two by Two they came.

What was the trick about it? I'm sure I have a sliver of bimbo. cool

I think he is comparing his love life to a computer. And back then most computer screens were blue. I know that's hard for you younguns to grasp the concept of, what with laptops and sidekicks and such...

But he was saying he was feeling "blue"... like the computer screen.

hell, he probably didn't realize it was religious when he wrote it! j/k

i think the original intent was religious and carnal, with the lyrics including, "love and lust, they both have four letters, but they're entirely different words"

there's further religious reference with, "father, father, where is the dawn?"

and then..

"should I go to church on Sunday?
should I stay at home and pray?
Should I try to make her happy?
should I try to make her stay?"

I agree Prince wants it both ways. Boy - girl, black or white, straight or gay and yes carnal and religious often within the same sentance.

It really is striking how he used to pull those thing off and they worked. Computer Blue is one the funkiest sexiest things I think I have ever heard....yet here he is talking about "Until I find the righteous one..."

So many complain about Prince being over religious especially after The Rainbow Children...and I laugh. Because its nothing new. Would you be willing to bet that 99.5% of people of this board had no idea that he was referring to Jesus in that song?

The ignorance still suprises me...but I guess it shouldn't
