HELP!!! It's starting to consume my life!!! Or at least talk about it's awesomeness with me!!!

There are so many great things about this particular show...

-The guitar work (Duh!)

-The fact that he only had a bass player & drummer backing him up

-Playing songs that he either hadn't played in years, or had NEVER played live


I need to discuss this with someone, 'cause I may never stop listening to it!!!

I think it would totally work if he went on tour with just a bassist, a drummer, & maybe a keyboard player!!!

I really love his version of Johnny B Goode because it's such a cliche guitar song and he makes it sound incredible. Boy was he feeling it that night, some very lucky folks in that crowd.

Probably my favorite song period of this show is Calhoun Square.

I enjoyed it but didn't think it was amazing (obviously very different if you were actually there).

I guess I have heard too many Vegas boots which have quite a few of the songs on already.

I was there and it was incredible. Just thinking about it makes me smile.

He was the baddest thing in the universe that night.

I've since heard most the aftershows from that tour - all except that one. Didn't think it was available as security was so erm.. tight that night. Remember seeing several people thrown out

During the end of Anotherlover (B52's rock lobester) the guitar went dead. Prince toyed around a bit, pretending to stage dive, saying goodnight, etc. He actually was very pissed and fire came from his eyes towards the guitar tech...

Minimal talking, a lot of smiles, no sunglasses. I guess he was in a good mood and really wanted to play some stuff HE was into, instead of the hits.

Between songs you can hear some guys commenting on the show. They're basically awe-struck and mumble words like unbelievable and oh my goodness...

strange how i never figured that there had to be another aftershow
since he put Chaos and Disorder up on 3121.com and i didn't have it
yet.

there seems to be a helpful commentary from the tapers telling you which song is about to start - a bit like the concert vids from Japan where they show the title on the screen.

Whoever was standing near the mic is pretty knowledgeable since they mention the song pretty quickly.

Beats the urinal noise we had to suffer during one of the ONA Hammersmith boots!

OMG, it's so funny that you should mention this, because I listened to this exact show JUST TODAY. It is a good one.

Now I'm listening to the aftershow from August 31st. It's another good one.
