That doesn't count as a real album...

That is just a horn show.

Live, then yeah, but studio wise I'd have to say SOTT.

I loved those. The horn break in the Anotherloverholenyohead video is my favorite part of the video.

To me, it got really bad during the Hit n Run tour when Prince let Kenny G.-wannnabe Najee put audiences to sleep with his interminable solos. Those were just awful.

Whenever he started using the HornHeadz. They were the tightest horn section Prince has ever had. They may not be best-suited for what he's doing now, but back during TGE, Sacrifice of Victor, etc., they were arguably the best part of the band.

It all started with SOTT, and I haven't regretted a minute of it since. The horns are amazing and add a lot to a track. The horn section of Billy Jack Bitch is off the hook.

syble

when he realised the connotation of the word horn and realised not only was it a good term for instruments but he could use the paraphrase so 'blow it' to death,

to me Princes attempt at 'carry on' movie type inuendo!

DMSR on the 1999 album... I say that because when I heard that I was in High School and didn't care for Prince but LOVED this song. The Keys are simply his desire to arrange some hornz on it. We used it in Jazz Band and did well for a High School at the New Orleans Jazz Festival in Spring 1983. After that I never heard it with Hornz until 2000 or so.

He simply did the reverse of what was happening at the time. Ojays, Earthwindfire, MJ's seawind hornz on Off the wall all using hornz. he didnt.... then when everyone was using synths... he started the hornz.. of course its also economic too

i wanted so bad to see a double concert of Bryan Setzer doing 50's covers and Prince doing James Brown Style covers.

Call it Prince and Bryan... under the covers... no wait... that won't work.
I may have the jelly 4 ur peanut butta but u got 31 hours and 21 minutes left.

Prince always like horns, but never really incorporated them into his music until 1985. With eric Leeds on the scene and Sheila introducing P to eddie M, I think the first real horn track was "temptation".

Then the flood gates opened. romance 1600, the Family, Parade, SOTT, Madhouse.

Well, I wouldn't go as far to say they were the best part of the band, but they were certainly the most most underated. I loved the Hornheadz!

the horns def add luxury & always a big affair. shortly after being on stage at coachella he demanded the horns - they transformed the moment to big drama. such a classy touch heart

Please expand on that statement, what is a 'real album'?
