i hope the "prince of coachella" name doesn't stick, because he's gonna have a bunch of other bands pissed off if the whole festival becomes all about prince.

This is good news... He and Jay have a nice rapport, so I hope he does a little talk/interview and not just a song. I would love to hear Jay ask him about his YouTube video crack down. It would be great to hear a new song, but I'm not holding my breath. If he goes for something from Planet Barf, I'd guess it would be Guitar or The One U Wanna C. (I think the latter got at least some air play.) Just please no Let's Go Crazy medley and leave the Twinz at home! | |

Awesome -- Prince has often tailored his performances on Leno to cater to Jay's love of jazz (the jazzy arrangement of "Dorothy Parker" for example), so even if it's not a new song, it should be a nice twist on a song not often performed live, I would guess.
Hopefully he does more than perform...he's comfortable with Jay and will maybe talk about plans for the year in addition to Coachella? I don't need to hear about the internet crackdown his legal team has been on...I want to know what's next musically. Check out The Mountains and the Sea, a Prince podcast by yours truly and my wife.
