lonelygurl8305	Why no Prince remixes? I've been searching all over the internet, and Prince has no remixes of any of his songs? What gives. I know he's a control freak when it comes to his music, but hasnt he at least remixed one of his songs?

But to be fair, the majority of his songs don't have real remixes per se, but extended versions or "remixes"

But there ARE remixes. True remixes. Especially when you get into the late 80's and early 90's.

There are tons of remixes, either done by himself ( sometimes drastically rearranged versions, like that fantastic I Hate U remix or the Space remixes) and sometimes done by other people. I still like that Mark Moore remix of " The Future", one of those rare moments when someone elses remix really added something to an already great song.

If you look at a discography, you'll see most singles have an extended version or a remix.

There are multiple remixes of tracks from certain periods (Diamonds & Pearls springs to mind), but Prince isn't like Madonna or Janet Jackson, for example, where there are TONS of remixes commissioned for each single or project - it just hasn't happened that often.

Remember, Prince is a musician - a lot of his remixes are done by himself, using Madonna and Janet as examples again, these remixes are commissioned for club play, because they are dance/pop acts, where Prince would probably come under rock/pop or r&b/pop.

I think u may be correct with the exception of the remixes that were released through the NPGMC; Hot Wit U (The Hot Xperience) and Get Wild (Miami Mix).

Those tracks were originally released as singles. Most of them were on the 12" singles. Many of us here were upset when the extended versions of Erotic City, Hello, etc. were not on there.

most of these songs are official releases and so can be found at record stores if you look hard enough. try ebay or amazon too. oh -- and what about crystal ball!! that had remixes (e.g. love sign, dark)
