warner bros attempt 2 endorse O(+> i realise this must b old news 2 some, (around 1993)
but i just discovered warner bros placed an advert in 'billboard' in an attempt 2 promote an album & 2 endorse prince's new name change 2 ...
i found this ages ago & thought it was a fake/funny mock-up:
however, prince was offended as it did appear 2 take the piss... he responded by placing his own advert the following week, using various symbols & blasted warners by making reference 2 their restraint of his artistic output. i'm really keen 2 know what prince's 'advert' actually said...does anyone have this info or at least can elaborate? cheers! I don't have a scanner:
"We here at NPG Records treat our artists with respect. It makes us and friends. Just don't call him Prince, O.K.?
and be Wild, N.P.G."
The graphics were just like the Warners' ad. I have both in a scrapbook.
