but would a book like this sell?

I'm delighted to see it has been worked on. Don't give up ... you know there is interest.

Its an interesting thing. Writing a book takes a lot of time. Per Nilsen spent so much time working on DMSR which covered Prince's 1st decade, that he didn't want to work on part 2 of that great book. Alex Hahn spent a great deal of time on his as well. Both are very well researched books but neither one sold huge numbers. There just isn't great amounts of money in a biography like that. Add to that the litigious nature of Prince and it almost doesn't seem worth it to put in the time to make a quality book.

It is on my mind a lot. My hope was always that it could be an UPTOWN project, but as of right now, UPTOWN's plate is full so we'll see where that goes.

Thanx for the interest. I do little bits over time and conduct new interviews when the come up.
The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. (www.amazon.com/gp/product/1538114623/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0) or www.facebook.com/groups/1...104195943/

I really hope you and who else is involved finds the energy and support to do this. I think there is not just interest, there's a need for such a documention of one of the greatest artist of the last don't-know-how-many years.

Co-sign!

Sure, it won't make you rich - probably only harcore fans would buy a book like this - but there IS interest. Sounds like you've done a great job with what you've done so far. It would be a shame for that to go to waste.

I love to read stuff like this, it's nice to know the Org isn't all trolling and flame wars...
