I saw Prince live first time in 86 and last time was in London. To me, the London concerts, even the aftershows, were a desillusion; to see the man that I loved for creating cutting edge new music slide down to a mere greatest hits, money grabbing act that also choses Crazy and Play That Funky Music White Boy over anything in his own back catalogue was very painful to watch.

My favourite Prince song? Probably Girl. Cuz I played it so many times.

I loved how back in the day he would spread his talents over related acts, like The Time etc. Now all we get is a Japanese version of Tamar, half-hearted releases that could have been so much more. I actually like one third of that album.

I got into Prince through Purple Rain, like many Europeans, but the lead off single for that album When Doves Cry grounded it for me. It mixed musical styles like no other artist had before, except maybe Elvis Presley or The Beatles.
I did not know that at age 13, though; I got hooked because of the fact it sounded so unlike anything I had heard before.

Freedom of speech it may be but responsibility of speech it is not.
