You can hear Prince's vocals on it and the sound is definately Prince with No Doubt mixed in.

Gwen's vocals are so average now compared to her pre Tragic Kingdom days. The song does not suit No Doubt, but it's a well written song.

Hmmm...I remember reading that no one in No Doubt besides Gwen had any involvement with that song.

In any case, it definitely has the "sound" of the Rave era to me.

Yes,and I heard that Tony the bass player was particularly upset about that since he was a huge Prince fan growing up. Typical Prince, sticking with the woman only.

I burnt a groove in my CD playing that song on repeat...Love it. But do you really have to dis prince and praise him in the same sentence?

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

By fresh i mean it sounds quite new and original compared to 3121, Musicology or PE. All of those play on his earlier music. Not that its a bad thing

It's not a 'Prince song' you know, it was written by No Doubt.
It was a leftover track from their 'Return of Saturn' album,
which Prince then reworked for them. Similar story to what
happened with Kate Bush's 'Why Should I Love You' track.

There was so much fantastic material left over from ROS, it's crazy. That really was a truly fantastic album, one that I would put in the top 50 albums of all time.

I Love No doubt!

I remember when I first listened to Rock steady the album, how much I preferred it to Prince's Rave from a couple of years before, and wished Prince had release something on par/similar to it!!!
