Weird Prince-dream last night... Not often i dream about Prince, but tonight i had one i vividly remembered after waking up.
In my dream i was clicking on the 3121.com site, whish you all know is turned on 'black' in reality. While i moved my mouse around different parts of the screen, some parts did 'lighten up' (not totally, those parts were still a bit shadowed and monochrome) and i could see pics of Prince, a female, and certain clickable parts. I clicked on those different links and discovered: - Prince has a new album out named "Love On" - On one screen you could see the tracklist, and hear parts of about 7 of the 12 songs on the album. - It turned out this female on the pics was Mayte, and she was back with Prince again, She even sang a duet with him on song of the new album. The sad part, however: most of the new songs sounded like rather uninspired, plastic dance-funk, a bit like a mixture between The Chocolate Invasion and New Power Soul, with some ingredients from Musicology. Despite of that, i was excited by my find and rushed unto the prince.org forum to tell you about the new album. It turned out i was the first to discover it. And thats were my dream ended... lol By the way: in terms of quality of the music, i have had a recurring Prince-dream about some forgotten album he released around 1996 - 1998. In that dream i sit in my bedroom at my parents house when i was around 16, i am holding the CD-case in my hands and go though the lyric sheet, wondering: why doesnt anybody know this great album? How could it be that it is so overlooked? This album has a rather sober picture of Prince on the frontcover, which is mainly black coloured, the lyricbook is black also, with white lettering. The album is mostly filled with slow, majestic ballads which run over 5 minutes. Prince is using a lot of orchestration on the songs, and the lyrics are rather bitter and somber. The song that comes to mind the most: Still would stand all Time, but with a much fuller, impressive arrangement. Prince is mostly singing in a very low register on this album (There is lonely, Five Women come to mind). There is only one funk-song on the album, and its a 7-minute long Jazz-funk fest, that reminds me of Duke Ellington and Cab Calloway. In my dream it is track nr. 2 or 3 of the album. The weird thing is i have dreamed this dream about 5 or 6 times at least, and its almost pretty the same. Especially my own wondering how about such a mature, great album could have been 'forgotten'.

Wow, what great dreams! Thanks 4 sharing Riverpoet! U have a highly creative subconcious! I love the idea 4 the 3121 site...I can really see that working. It seems a strangely appropriate concept, somehow
As for the 'forgotten' album...Wouldn't that b wonderful? Fantastical, but not beyond the realms of possibility Dream in2 reality, Please!!! [Edited 4/19/08 14:28pm]

Hey that's a pretty neat dream. I had a really funky one the other night too.
I had just watched "The Undertaker" and my dream was just like it. I was wondering through PP and came upon Prince in the middle of a jam session. (But instead of the all black, he was wearing a blue and white striped suit and looked much more current.) He wasn't playing "The Ride" instead he was playing "Porgoo" and in the middle of the song, he noticed me standing and watching him (surely all doe eyed and all! LOL) and made the band stop playing. He looked directly at me, pursed that pretty little mouth of his, and then asked, "You're not gonna throw up while I'm playing like that other chick did, are you?" And them I woke up, laughing. I love a Man who:
