Batdance vs. Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me

With Batman: The Dark Knight Returns hitting theatres in two or so months, I wanted to pit the two best uptempo Batman singles against each other.

Both were from Batman soundtracks and both are by two artists (U2 & Prince)I like alot...

Which do you prefer?

Quite hard to compare. "Hold Me" is probably better suited to the dark Batman themes, and it had a great film clip from memory. But the movie sucked unfortunately. "Batdance" is like some crazy pop-funk-on-acid-experiment-thing that only Prince could pull off. Probably his most experimental hit single. Both great, but I'll go with "Batdance" (hey, this is a Prince forum remember!)

That's a tough question! I was a massive fan of U2 in the 90s and loved "Hold me"...but me and my sis were brought up on Prince's music (well some of it) and Batdance was one of those fun songs from when I was a kid.

I think Batdance wins. It's more fun!
Or is Hold Me better....oh I don't know!!

Neither are better as they are both different - naaawwww

BATDANCE wins!

BatDance.

Cannot compare U2 to Prince.

I love U2 ( esp. the Edge). They have great songs, great spiritual vibe, great live performances, great hearts.

And with all that they still have about 1/100th the talent of Prince.

Prince is a unique entity, like Joni Mitchell, or Mozart, or Beethoven, really incomparable to anyone else.

And for me U2 is not the best rock band. I recall INXS being a better live band and my favorite will always be Queen ( I still miss Freddie).

BatDance would win everytime.

U2 are shite live. Its all whizzbang technicals that make it interesting.

INXS were far better imo.

As for the topic: Batdance by a MILE.

EDIT: i just saw another user said the same thing re inxs razz

Just based on the songs alone, Hold me is a much better song. Batdance is tame compared to Hold me. Of course u2 are vastly overrated but i would chose to listen to that instead of batdance. Electric chair on the other hand..
