DJ BROTHER JULES: THE REMIX EXPERIENCE i've got a few questions about this release. iirc it was an official release,
although it was only released on cdr and sold in mpls at brother jules' store or something, or the giftshop in paisley park. i think the runningtime clocks in at 31:40 and it starts with jules stating: "yo check this i'm giving u a verbal warning before we get to this next jam, the bass on it is kinda wild so if u got a cheap system or whatever you had better turn it down..hahaha" the songs featured include: pop life she's always in my hair big fun face down put your hand where my eyes can see violet the organ grinder ganster glam jam of the year joint 2 joint mad the return of the bump squad pussy control tricky billy jack bitch/love4oneanother hot thing kiss 17 days housequake my question is, when was this released (sometime post 1998 i guess because the cusswords are censored) and was it the only remix experience jules did? there is another "remix experience" in an audio show, that features new world, the human body and underneath the cream. iirc jules did that one too and they also sold that one in paisley park. i think it was the premiere of underneath the cream, the cdr. anyone know more about these brother jules remix experiences? and true love lives on lollipops and crisps

I think it was 'released' in 2000. It was issued on CD-R. Aside from the remix itself, at least one issue of it on CD-R also has 'Hot Wit U (Nasty Girl Remix)', 'Man O' War (Remix)', and 'Underneath The Cream'. The CD-R has the Symbol on it abd reads mixed and conceived bt Brother JUles with an email address on it. The remix was originally referred to on Prince's official website, with a link to Brother Jules' Musical Emporium (from memory). Some people visited the store and purchased it. Others ordered a copy by telephone using credit card. However, the link to the Emporium did not sit on the official site for long. I recall reading or hearing that the inclusion of the other three tracks was not endorsed by Prince, and therefore the promotion of the mix on the official site ceased. Certanly, this occurred after the release of 'Rave Un2' (which included the original takes on 2 of the additional songs), but before 'Underneath The Cream was officially released, as featured on the Hit 'N Run single. It was still being sold at the Emporium store in June 2001. I'm unaware that the other mix to which you are referring was ever released in any way other than on the official site either as part of the audio download, or later streamed perhaps in the Glam Slam VIP room or elsewhere. I've never come across it (or the Brother Jules Remix Experience) as having been sold through the Paisley Park 'giftshop'. . [Edited 5/11/08 11:48am] ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.
