Sorry, but no.

There's this groovy little thing called freedom of speech and freedom of opinion. We are, as fans, within our rights to criticize or disagree with the man. "True" fandom, in spite of what the nutjob FAMS think, does not involve blind worship. If Prince does or says something stupid -and he has on several occasions - we are not obligated to spin it into something cute or praiseworthy.

Personally, if I were Prince, I'd be more bothered by the pointless, inane discussions that overstuff this forum and others like it about the shape of my ass and which colour I look hottest in, than any criticism or commentating on one of my albums or movies.

That is exactly what I'm talking about, so Sorry, but yes. I got no issues about freedom of speech. But that has to have a barrier too. There's also a right called personal privacy. I think some Prince fans need to get a grip. Prince is not going to materialize in your bedroom with his assout pants and lace gloves with the ruffles on top...I mean damn, some folks I know been on here for 10 years or more talking about the same thing...nothing.

There is nothing wrong with critique, not every song is going to be a hit, but some folks act like he deliberately made a bad song just to piss them off. That's were the line gets crossed. It's psychotic at times, imo.

nod Co-sign everything you said. I rarely enter the Prince forum on here because so much of it is just pointless bullshit like picture threads of the guy without a shirt or who he's banging lately.

That said, I think occasional discussion of his life can be appropriate, given how much his work is influenced by what's going on for him at the time. But there is a line.

Gee, your signature touched me...don't know why, but I smiled and felt a joyous feeling inside. Thanks, needed it.
