I hope it wont be some new, bland contemporary R&B song with that 'Ledisi'..(Who is she anyway?) Personally i think Princes music looses so many character and urge when he moves into that 'branche': those collaborations with Nona Gaye and Tamar, songs like The greatest romance, Future Baby Mama and Mr. Goodnight... There are enough R. Kelly's and Beyonces doing that type of plastic shit. When you listen to live-bootlegs from the eighties and early nineties, you can hear Prince is very much into the classic funk of James Brown, Sly Stone and George Clinton (of course...). Next to that i hear an artist who sounds more at ease with the raw, Stax-soul from the sixties (Otis Redding, Aretha Franklin), the gospel from the Staple Singers and the raw guitar-work of Eddie Hazel en Jimi Hendrix. But since the mid-nineties Prince seems to trade that influences from traditional soul and R&B way too often with that of plastic, watered down contemporary R&B. I don't know why he does that. Because he want to stay 'modern'? Because he wants to score hits with it? I am not sure about that. One thing i know is, his music surely not befenits from it. | |

You try producing a better album. Fucking player haters.  Who said anything about the production? The album's production isn't the problem it's the music/lyrics/content itself that's crap. You can produce the hell out of it all you want, but at the end of the day it's still
