The Dopamine Rush and the Jewel Box set

Hey Guys... I just wanted your thoughts on this cut. I never really paid attention to it years and years ago when I stumbled across the Jewel Box. I always justg listed to Open Book, Big Tall Wall, and The Voice Inside... which I LOVE...

... but the Dopamine Rush is just a total jam!

What are you thoughts on this cut... and what are your faves from the Jewel Box?

The public is squeezin' you kiddo. You'd better kick ass on your next album or else!

Do you mean the released Dopamine Rush or the unreleased Dopamine Rush Suite, comprised of the songs 21 to 24 with Eric Leeds?

I kinda like both, but the released Dopamine Rush, on Eric Leeds' Times Squared, together with the tit1e track were the least interesting songs on that album.

I kinda tend to skip this track, as it features the most stupid monologue in Dutch by Anna Garcia, Prince's girlfriend in 1989.

You know, in the US you probably have an American accent you would immediately identify as white trash; it's the same with Anna's voice. I ain't judging her or anything, but her accent is one I immediately identify with street-Amsterdam, and not the kind I immediately take too.

On the other hand, she was barely legal, so that softens the talk about 'sauerkraut-coloured wigs'. I mean; wtf?

I didn't know there was an Eric Leeds suite. I'm speaking of the single cut.

It's just a joy to listen to musically. Maybe I'll have to focus on the lyrics a bit... but I thought it was Spanish, not dutch.

Musically, it's a joy!

Also, haven't spent time in Amsterdam yet, so I wouldn't know the street aspect.

It is a Prince composition, with Eric Leeds performing the saxophone. There are actually three ladies, speaking three languages, French, Dutch and Swedish, if I am not mistaking.
The suite (the basic track repeated four times with Prince and Eric laying different instrumentation over it) was shortened into an instrumental version for the official release on Eric Leeds' Times Squared, a related artists release with a lot of Prince input.
