1990 Live in Tokyo!!! WOW!! just saw it -- now THAT is a prince concert. People often ask how he is "different" than he was "back then" -- and people are often asked to back up their assertions he isn't as good today.
Well, for the people asking for verification - watch that tour. The way he invents groves from his old jams is brilliant, the way he incorporates rap onto when doves cry, extends jams, and makes it all seamless is unlike anything i've seen since 1996. and i've seen shows since. plenty.

[Do NOT ask where to find/get etc., For legal reasons this is not allowed snip - luv4u] In 1990 I had a Japanese penfriend through Controversy fanzine. He recorded it straight off Japanes tv the night it was aired - converted it to PAL and I had it about 5 days later!!! Still watch it now!!! Excellent!!! Never seen it anywhere else. Sorry! I literally wore this tape out when I had it. The weird thing is that the running order of the concert was totally changed around on the broadcast for some reason.
I still remember all those weird adverts (commercials) - Sa Za Leh !!!! But yes, this was a peak powerhouse of a performance. Best ever (1 verse) Purple Rain, in the zone on Question of U and then all that fun stuff with Partyman and Baby I'm a Star. Even the Game Boyz were OK! I'm going to get hold of this again as it's too good not to own! [Edited 4/13/08 14:48pm] "Sheeeeeeeeit"

The TIME!!!??? I didn't know anything about that!!! All we got in the London shows was Mavis Staples. And she hogged that one. I've never known a support act to go on and on and on, like she did!!! Life's a Parade! LoveLife, LoveSexy!

Isn't that where he did that pole dance on the question of you? OMG!

Great show. I bought this boot back in 92 and was blown away when he did "Bambi". "The Question Of U" is killer and I think this might have been one of the last shows P did with Dr. Fink. I actually didn't mind the long dance-medley at the end of the show.
Some of the "Nude Tour" video boots are great. P's singing, dancing, piano playing and guitar playing were in top form.
