A worshipper--Thinks Jughead is on par with 1999....

A fan---Knows Jughead is crap and Prince should never tackle rapping.

A worshipper---Believes Wendy/Lisa reunion will bring back the Purple rain sound to Prince/May be inclined to believe that The Time are the greatest funk group ever

A fan--appreciates that the contributions of Wendy/Lisa was great for that moment in time./recognizes The Time were a decent group but not on par with funk groups from a decade earlier.

A worshipper--Believes Prince is the greatest musician ever

A fan-Developed a healthy appreciation for Prince's music, but as stated before, realizes you can't appreciate his music without understanding his influences.

A worshipper-Thinks Mayte & Prince were the chosen ones and that Prince was at his greatest when she was in his life.

A fan-May be inclined to believe that Mayte was Prince's Yoko Ono

nod
I agree with all the above. I think you've covered all of the points... except for the part about Mayte.
But I haven't listened to Emancipation yet, so I can't really say I stand one way or the other unless I get ALL of the facts.
Right now, though, I still believe they were the perfect couple... or so they seemed. confuse But I'm not gonna start to fathom what happened because that would fall under his personal/private life.

That's something else we can add to the list.

A worshipper wants to know every aspect of Prince's private life as well as his life in the public eye. When he disappears for even a couple of weeks without being in the news, they start worry.

A fan (or even something above a fan) believes that Prince should have his privacy and only go as far as the music will allow them and then some.

I agree....I like him for his music. Who he sleeps with is of no real concern to me....I bring up Mayte only b/c there is such a devotion to her and her influence on his music/lifestyle that it borders on fanaticism. It is like the org version of Brad & Angelina.

yes, very well said.. i dont understand the ones who get upset @ others.. for not liking the PE album.. i dont get it.. i mean, it's all apart of being a fan... we're not gonna like everything he does and that's normal...we all have different tastes .. but like u said.. both sides must be careful ..

If I may add to what you are saying flowerz, it was something to see fans who didn't like PE go crazy when other fans here said that they liked PE. That's why I said BOTH sides. We seem to focus primarliy on people who defend Prince's every move, right or wrong, but what about those who have to always criticize and dog his every move too? They need to be held to the same fire as the defenders/worshippers or whatever you call them. In my world, it's all about balance.

nod i totally agree with you.. no need to bash PE too .. everyone should respect each other's taste in music without the insulting

A Prince fan can laugh at Prince and not feel bad about it because a fan knows that his music is the most important thing about him and that fan also believes that deep down inside, Prince agrees and is laughing with him/her...or maybe Prince isn't laughing, in which case, we're laughing at him and he's just not laughing...oh, well, he'll be okay. Who doesn't laugh at their friends? shrug

A Prince worshipper refuses to see the humor and insists that Prince is great at everything. According to them, even his poops are outstanding and no, they don't smell and his farts are like a symphony.

lol at the idea of Prince farting. falloff

The shoes. If you see guys wearing shoes they can't walk on that aren't equipped for real life activities.....

Our old band once played a club date with a group called (Don't Laugh) 7 Erotic Days.

After our set I'm paying the water bill and in the corner of my eye I see a vision in pink.

And I'm thinking "This better be a chick or things are about to get real ghetto REAL quick".

Back then we didn't have all that George Michael Tevin Campbell sissy stuff in the bathroom.

And I turn around after finishing and it's the guitar player for their group. "Hi, I really like those Van Halen licks you play."

And I'm like: "Nooooo. You took it to far man. All pink? C'mon bruh! You can't be getting on the bus with that shit. (This was their 24/7 uh, "look".)

A fan is happy with their own level of fandom and doesn't feel the need to define themselves.

A Fam (worshipper) feels the need to tell everyone how it should work, all the while, going against Prince's wishes (Idolisation, continual picture posting etc). They have 10 albums, 10 ticket stubs and 10,000 pictures. Selective Contradiction.

Back in the 90's, I actually knew of a person at university who had a small Prince shrine in his room - people used to think he was strange. But there are such people, and I put them in the category of Prince worshipper.

I know a girl who's like this. She has a shrine to Prince in her apartment and she doesn't listen to hardly any other artists. It's scary! disbelief
