Question about "She Loves Me 4 Me" and the "theocratic order"

With this one I can be what I wanna be
I don't have 2 live up 2 no one's fantasy
I could write another 300 melodies
2 her it's just 3, cuz this one, she loves me 4 me

Just 3? Is that referring to "1+1+1=3"? And the "theocratic order"? Which is laid out in the song "the Rainbow Children."

In other words, the music Prince makes is not of a concern to the woman as she keeps her place in the "theocratic order."

Maybe. But, I think it's really just saying she doesn't care about his music. She's not bothered if he writes another 300 songs (a figure often used in the media for unreleased songs, coincidently), she loves him, not his celebrity status, etc.

Kind of ironic really if it's Mani. shrug

I think that Prince means that she loves his writing...might as well write another million songs....To her it's just 3....(words) I love You.

He said in an interview in Ebony Magazine that he wrote that for Mani.

The first time I heard 1+1+1=3 I thought Prince meant:

If you got no place to stay, you can come with me. And that the 1+1+1=3 meant she'd have to be cool with a 3-way with him and another girl.

I like my version better.

No, I think he meant what he said in the lyric. For every hundred song he writes, she thinks they are are just one song, or she just notices one. Not exactly the most romantic thing for her to do, I guess you could say, but at least he took a break from his ego when he said that lol.

Theocratic order would mean the standards or commandments that Christians follow. The arrangement for marriage would mean that 1) they would not defile the marriage by commiting adultery, 2) they would respect the headship arrangement, meaning that God is head of Christ, Christ is head of Husband, Husband is head Wife, etc.
1+1+1 is 3 is based on a scripture in Ecclesiastes that says that a bond between two people may be strong, but one that is backed by God [thus meaning a relationship consistenting *figuratively* of God, the wife, and the husband] could not be defeated easily.

Wow! You're good. I should have read that before I answered!

*side note: That's actually quite romantic. I also think another thing he may have meant by this is that [another interpretation] of all the songs that he's written are [or were] about her, but she only interprets them to mean one thing: I love you [Mani]. Aw. mushy

It means that it doesn't matter to her how many songs he writes...or doesn't write. She loves the person he is no matter what he does.
We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

And, for that matter, at that moment Prince felt that way about her, so it is true.
