Ironically, it was reported that Madonna was actually wanted by P to play his love interest in UTCM. But Sean, her then husband, wasn't having it. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

Actually Prince got there 4 years before her. Also i think Prince wanted her as the love interest in Graffiti Bridge, not UTCM - maybe he wanted her for both?
Anyho - i dont see any other similarities between the 2, except the B&W thing, and the fact both had musical numbers. | |

"Girls and Boys" could have been a duet.
Christopher Tracy's Parade could have been "The Love Parade" led by Madonna and her confused male dancers. The name of the film could have been "A Ray of Light from The Cherry Moon that leads to Evita's Graffiti Bridge". Yeah, I once thought it was "interesting" that they both had b&w movies out during that time period...

As all those above said, I would not have watched it if it had Madonna in it...I don't even know what possessed prince to be interested in that... Probably because P and Madonna had a fling in 84 and they had both done a movie; PR & Desperately Seeking Susan so business wise, it would have worked. In early 85, and SoulAlive can attest to this, it was reported in Black Beat or Right On magazine that P and Madonna were to star in a film titled "Prince of Darkness and the Morning Star". Then as reported in DMSR, P wanted Madonna to star in UTCM. Don't know if those were to be the same film and P just changed the title or what. Reportedly Madonna wanted to do it but Sean wasn't having it cuz he knew about her and P's little fling back in 84. Plus, he and Madonna were doing a film together. Then P, still committed to doing a film with Madonna, gave her the script to G.B., which she told P she didn't want to do that. So, ... SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz.
