LPs are coming back, so it could be worth a lot. But like the other post said, whatever it's worth to you.
I have a never-played Purple Rain LP. It isn't sealed, but it was never played, and has the When Doves Cry poster too (never unfolded). Right now, it's the only LP I have, and I plan on putting it in one of those 12x12 wall frames.

They just got in the 12X12 frames at the local store here at $5 each Compared to 2 for $25 at Urban Outfitters I am an 80s Music Junkie !

Purple Rain, sealed or not, is not a rare LP.
So no, it's not a rare collectible and no, it's not worth a lot It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.

The bottom has dropped out of the Prince collectables market. The rarest discs aren't fetching anywhere near what they would have 10 years ago.
Plus, I think collecting is a dying breed. Just look on here. The Grafitti Bridge promo LP was a good example. People were saying, why would you pay hundreds of dollars when you can pick the CD up for 10? They don't understand the very essence of collecting. Certain discs will always sell for a premium, but the days of the likes of Strange Tales selling for £500 are long gone. I think, as music has become more and more disposable, there is less band/artist loyalty. Coupled with the fact that there are very few lifetime successful artists now, means a back catalogue can't mature and increase in value. .

I have a purple vinyl Purple Rain album.I've had it for years. Someone was willing to give me $50 for it about 7 years ago but I said nah. Don't have any idea on how much it's truly worth. I only played it once and that was Let's Go Crazy. Other than that, I put it back in the cover and left it in there. But I always dug having it. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."

I have seen "For You" and "Prince" sealed LP's for $25. I'd bet is worth about the same. More popular for sure, but also more recent and a ton more out there.

My advice to all of you with sealed Prince albums is to rip off the cellophane and play the goddam things!!!

Why would I want to do that? I could wait another 30 years and it may be worth $35!!
Actually, if I am looking for an old LP (like "For You") I'd rather pay $25 (and yes, play it) than $6 for something that has been gathering dust for 30 years and may have a few scratches. eireboy34 said: vman4639 said: I have seen "For You" and "Prince" sealed LP's for $25. So no, it's not a rare collectible and no, it's not worth a lot Mine has sentimental value only . . . I don't care what it's worth financially. It is the surviving 1 out of 2 copies I had

It's not worth much, bro. I got one too, paid less than 20$ for it. It is not known why FuNkeNsteiN capitalizes his name as he does, though some speculate sunlight deficiency caused by the most pimpified white guy afro in Nordic history.
