Assuming that this is some bona fide hint at some forthcoming, hopefully imminent, project, I'd love to think that it means a return to the synth (keys) based sound of his first five albums. A sort of back-to-basics after 30 years of releasing incredibly diverse recorded music.
He's been fiddling with it a couple of times of late with Lolita and Love. Certainly, after so much band-based work over the past however many years, it'd be a great move to revert back to the absolute Produced, Arranged, Composed and Performed by Prince (without any asterisks) credit. And it would also fit in with his back-to-basics, remember when the internet didn't exist, theme of the moment | |
