One of my favorites of all of his songs
It's just amazing throughout. I love his use of guitar here because it just supplements his voice so well. In fact, it goes beyond his voice and says the "words" he can't bring himself to say... or simply because he doesn't know the words he wishes to say. I've also heard a few different versions of it. The one from "The Beautiful Experience" promo is different than the album version, or so I've heard. I've heard it live on two occasions. The 2003 performance in Hong Kong and @ 3121 in 2006 ... watching that 2003 performance... it's just... wow... it's beautiful. He's beautiful in it. And it's ultimately the reason why its the only song on TGE that seems to transcend time and takes on a whole new meaning than the rest for me. Because I know that's a song from that time that's lived on. There's very few songs from the 90's you can say that about, never mind one this brilliant. had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

A masterpiece but funnily enough I never had much time for it until I saw it being frequently discussed on here when I joined first in 2004. Easily the best track on a pretty tight album.

shhh
'doing her after school like some homework is a bit disturbing...' , but the frantic drumming building 2 a very sexy crescendo..the groans & grunts r a nice touch. the harbourfest performance is pure class. [Edited 4/7/08 16:51pm]

It sounds so different in a live version... but seeing him do it in the HK 2003 clip, just amazing had 2 run away... pride was 2 strong. It started raining, baby, the birds were gone

Definately one of his best tracks of the 1990s, if not his entire career. This totally smokes live too. Hong Kong 2003 is probably my fav version too. Toejam @ Peach & Black Podcast: http://peachandblack.podbean.com

Incredible song. I wish he had released this as a single. It's even better live. I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

One of my favorite Prince tunes of all time and like Erotic City, IIWYG etc., uniquely Prince. Sexy torch song, kick-ass guitar, naughty lyrics and brilliant changes of pace. Live, it is absolutely breathtaking. When that second drum bridge hits followed by that insanely beautiful climactic guitar solo.... wow, clearly written for the bedroom. More please Prince, more.

I love this song! I have heard him sing it live 3 times on the Musicology tour and then on 7/7/07 in Minneapolis. I get chills just listening to it, but live it was a sensory overload!
