the gold experience tour was indeed a very good tour.

I would choose a gig from the parade era. Since it is my all time favorite show I choose the Birthday gig at Cobo Hall Detroit, 7th June 1986. So incredible cool.

And there's this aftershow he did with a shirt that had an eye in the middle (open), where he performed Miss you with Ron Wood. That one I would want to see also.

Gosh. There's a couple of shows I'd have to hit up.

Prince at the Ritz in New York, 1981. Him in those black "manties". Oooh!

Any Purple Rain Tour show where Prince wore black or white lace.

Any tour when he was "The Artist Formerly Known As Prince".

And of course to be in house at the Rave Un2 the Year 2000 concert. (I was 13 at the time of the show, and pretty sure I was too young to get in. smile )

hello, This situation really happened to me, I wish I could do it all over again,
I was 15 years old. they played the two back to back videos of Kiss & Mountains. then about a little after 9pm or so that night I thought I might get to be the 10,000 caller. well a few of my girlfriends decide to call, thinking we would not get thought, guess what the lady on the other end says I think you won, I was so excited I hung up,.now if that was a moment in time I could do all over again. I would. wink

I wonder if there were groupies with vans who followed prince tours and concerts all over the place. Had I known of them, let's say...5 years back, I'd join in a quickness. lol

Now I'm like...prince who? razz

I'd go straight back in 1985 for the Purple Rain tour.

Then skip to 1987 here in Italy, where he kicked ass in Milan with Sign O' the times.

Then in 1988, always here during the Lovesexy tour.

Finally, I'd wait two years recharging my batteries and getting ready for the Nude Tour.

I saw Prince live just once, in 2002 with 'One Nite Alone'.

I miss U, baby neutral

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Hell you were lucky. I wasn't even a fetus in 1984!

To go see Prince in all that yummy lace and peals and diamonds. And the fur. Oooh! Prince is the man, was the man, is the damn man!

I was blessed to have been a kid when P first hit the scene. So I was there when Prince was this totally wild performer. When Soft and Wet and I Wanna Be Your Lover were brand new. And being witness of him going from phase to phase.

Probably those early Dirty Mind/Controversy tours. He was buildng a reputation for being a fierce performer. I'm sure a lot of cats (especially the brothas) minds were being blown during that time!!!

I think Blackguitaristz can attest to that one!!!

I would've loved to have seen him during the Gold era. It was the perfect combination of so many factors: a newly inspired Prince playing his best new material in years, a smaller fan base allowing for good seats, an exciting atmosphere of change and endless possibilities, and a ridiculously sexy Mayte shaking her perfect ass on stage.

Haha! Yeah, definately. I actually had a chance to see P during his second album. He was opening for Rick and my older cousin and myself were all prime to go. But then the week of the show, I got really sick and missed all week of school. Well, needless to say, the night of the concert, which was that Friday, there was NO way my mom was going to let me go and I had been sick that whole week. So I gave my ticket to my cousin's girlfriend and they went. Afterwards, my cousin came back, telling me all about the concert. He said that Prince was crazy as hell. He knew that I would have dug the show because P's band was ALL Rock. But he said that he saw bruthas actually getting up and leaving during P's show. And all of the others were either just standing with their mouths wide open or they were dancing. When I saw P on the Controversy tour, he had toned down quite a bit. The show I went to, P was definately wearing pants.
