Pop oddball to settle in UK after falling for movie legend's niece


HE'S the tiny, barking mad American superstar who changed his name and became a recluse in the 90s.

And now pop legend Prince has baffled us again.

This time, 3am can reveal that it has nothing to do with the Purple Pain adopting a new persona.

No, now the weird one is planning to relocate to Britain - for good.

Predictably, the move has nothing to do with his love for the English countryside.

It's more to do with his friendship with supermodel Lucy Mans, niece of the late screen legend Cary Grant.

"Prince has told pals that he wants to move to the UK to see more of his friend Lucy," said our perfectly placed source.

"He has always been obsessed with Cary Grant since watching the old movies he starred in.

So when Prince first happened to bump into Lucy in London, he was totally intrigued by her.

"Now when he's in town, they regularly go out for dinner and when they're apart, they call each other all the time.

"Prince has written to her from the US, telling her about his intended move - and it's fair to say that she's she's, er, overwhelmed by the idea."

So desperate is Prince to become a lord of the manor that he has dispatched a team of five house-hunters to find their Prince the perfect palace... in the Surrey hills.

And from what we hear, the 44-year-old maestro, who is famed for his bizarre demands and penchant for four-inch heels, is not hanging around in his hunt for a home. He has ordered his team to find him a place by spring.

But if the singer thinks he's going to going to live happily ever after with his supermodel friend, he'd better think again...

From what we hear, she is a little perturbed by his drastic decision to relocate.

"Lucy is stunned that he's moving to the UK to be close to her," added our source. "Of course, she's flattered by it all but still can't understand why he's so crazy about her and her late uncle.

"However, she does enjoy his company and has admitted to her pals that she's looking forward to seeing a lot more of him."

The pair went on numerous dates at Soho eatery Nadine's while the singer was in London earlier this month. They were also spotted out at South Kensington restaurant The Collection enjoying a candlelit dinner.

It is not known if his helpers have managed to locate the perfect pad yet but, whatever happens, he will be keeping his mansion, Paisley Park, in Minneapolis, where he has a recording studio.

So Surrey residents had better watch out - a little Prince will soon be arriving to rule the roost...

Sorry - but the two excuses for journalists that call themselves the 3am girls write the biggest pile of pap in the tabloids. He even mentioned this ridiculous photograph that they published (it sooo wasn't him!) at the gig on the 3rd Oct - "some guy pretending to be me with some blonde ... who I would never be seen with" were his exact words I believe.

Still...if he feels like coming to London for a while he can stay with me! Call me P, we'll do lunch.

...And what's with all the insults when they describe Prince? i'm sick of it.

It's pretty obvious that Cary Grant's niece and Prince impersonator are most likely planting these stories for their own five minutes of fame.
