Today's April 3rd! And it's snowing out! How is it possible? This reminds me of the Prince song "Sometimes it Snows in April".

is it me or does that song sound a bit gay? dnt get me wrong its on of my favs, but he talks about a male friend called tracy and stuff and lovers holding hands in the rain >

When I first heard it I thought it was about the love between two men, wait a minute it is! But men can be close friends and not be lovers.

I think its supposed to be written from the character Marys point of view. Hence the lyrics seem a bit wierd with Prince singing them.

Keep in mind Prince and his dad wrote Under the Cherry Moon. I want to believe his dad probaly wrote Sometimes It Snows In April. The song coupled with the movie is/ and was probaly very significant in their lives.

Well, I personally feel that nowadays he may sing it about the death of his son....he nearly ALWAYS sings it in concert, and it seems very personal to him, just my thoughts.....

The song is bittersweet. And last year I had a foot of snow on my car from the 4th through the 9th of April...I took pictures.

It's true sometimes it snows in april...
both in our heart & it did here as well last year..from the skye 2 the ground.

I've always picked up on the songs lyrics as being set to under the cherry moon.
.....and well he could've combined it with thoughts/memories of having a best friend.

Art has so many combined meanings to me..and well combined meanings should be common round here.
