Sly Stone at First Avenue

OK i'm gonna give it a shot, i've budgeted 65$ to go see sly at first avenue on may 2nd. i've already decided at the worst sly will sing one song, walk off and larry will take over-i'll be oiled up and it wont matter cus 90% of the local funk bands cover them anyway. now, at best sly sings for an hour and refrains from walking off that's worth hundreds!!!. now, since prince seems to be droppin in on everybody from stevie to blind boys of alabama who knows? he might drop in and finish the gig (when sly wanders into the back alley) or even better jam with sly-priceless. Play Vegas sportsbook orgers, what are the odds on all three outcomes.

don't be too disappointed if sly doesn't show up at all and the whole show is performed by the rest of the band. in fact, feel lucky if sly DOES make an appearance. also, larry's not gonna be part of the current line-up.

nope. (sly and) the family stone are playing first ave in may. i believe they're playing in chicago that same weekend. i put "sly and" in parentheses because that's probably how it's going to end up. lol

I saw the family stone briefly feat Sly at the Lovebox fest in London last summer, the band were great. Sly was ok... but the rest of the band did great live on 'dance to the music' If I was in the US I'd def go to that gig smile

COOL, it's a 65$ investment in potential i'm there, besides no one puts on a bad show at first ave, my personal favorite was Bootsy Collins.

$65 is kind of a lot of money to gamble with but it looks like they only have four shows booked for the states, so it may very well be worth the price of admission. I'm considering rolling the dice and going to checkem out...
