Damned If I do was an amazing song why was it not put out as a single?

I would love to see Prince back in the charts with videos etc, my mates laugh at me because I am a Prince fan.

I feel sorry for the younger Generation because none of them will know who Prince is.

He needs to release dance mixes of old songs just 2 get the younger genration back.

I agree that "Damned If I Do" is a tremendous song. I was listening to it two days ago, and said the same thing you did - this should have been a single.

But I disagree with dance mixes. If the song is good, the song is good. A dance mix is a different song. If that's what it takes to get an audience, then why record the song at all? Just record the dance mix.

And really, I think the broader point is the state of "music" today. Prince is right on when he complains about a lack of real music played by real musicians.

John Mellencamp was right - rock and roll is dead, at least as a viable form on the charts.

Hip-hop and rap have replaced rock and pop. I don't like it, but I'm apparently in the minority.

So, for those of us that like real music, we'll just have diga little deeper.

I liked hip hop when it had a point. I think that stopped when Ice Cube was more popular, now nothing-so far-in hip hop has me interested even in the slightest.

Im 20. I am SURPRISED at how much fans that are the same age as me. I waent 2 The Park in June, and amazingly 90% of the majority was ages 20 - 30. I was very very very surprised expecting 2 c peeps in their 40's and stuff.

People around my age who don't listen 2 Prince have no idea he has about 25 albums. Have no idea he's still releaseing (which is understandable).

I'm glad they still have (the only real black radio station in Murderapolis) KMOJ in Minneapolis that promote everything new about Prince.

I honestly haven't really checked out the roots, but will make it point to do so. My sis likes Common, so i'll have to listen to some of her CD's. De la's been around for a while, checked them out back in the day, but not much since.
