Back to Prince, he's only shy offstage. Onstage, he's never shy about letting us know how he feels cool He's gotten better, but I don't think he'll get over his offstage shyness completely cuz you can't help being who u are wink

How do you know? lol

Not by everyone, when someone is genuine shy, male or female, they win my sympathy instantly. There's just something about being shy, some vulnerability.

And I do think that Prince is still occassionaly shy. You can see it in some tv appearances/interviews. When someone acts strange, not at ease is some sort of shyness also.

nod
I think so too.
I'm awfully shy,
I hate it when I blush.

Y'know, when someone like LittleRedCorvette, for example quotes Rumi she does so coming from a profound place.

However, when Royalshyness/Stereo/Sacredwarrior/Whitewidow/Home uses the same words as a tactic it isn't quite the same. lol Who will you be next week, hmmm?

Don't forget Box.

Don't forger ChariotLove!

Prince comes across as shy in interviews/press conferences quite often, but that's not the impression I got when I saw him in London biggrin

By 'shy' I assume you all mean about public speaking - it takes balls to pursue one's dreams, lead a band, run a business, and most of all be true to oneself, the way Prince has been doing.
It looks like to me he's been doing all that in a very bold, not shy, manner.

Prince has never struck me as shy, at all. He just seems (to me) to be someone who is uber selective about who he shares himself with. And I don't mean that sexually (that goes without saying). I mean any aspect of himself - his opinions, his humor, his tastes - anything.

It's one of the things I really appreciate about him. He is one of the few people around today who is a genuine "star" - and it's because he has managed to keep an air of mystery. We always want to know more about him...and that wish is rarely granted.
We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

cool surprises cool
Imagine the passion he feels when writing songs fallinluv and then putting out a video for all to see...that takes a lot of confidence and control of his emotions, guess he can't be too shy cowboy king

Yes and no. But you can see it and you can feel it plenty a time through the years. I don't think he's a that good actor.

Being talented, smart and knowing exactly what you want stands loose of having an unprotected moment of vulnerability.

He seems to control himself very much, he probably got lessons immediately when he started out as a kid in the business. And he knows he's good.
Someone who's nature is shy can learn how to camouflage it but can still bring up this feeling of vulnerability, something child like, at the most unexpected moments. When being in a position he doesn't want to be in or a person he likes.

I would say there’s a big difference between making music, singing, dancing on stage because that’s what he loves to do and getting up on a quiet stage to present an award or say something. Everybody’s watching him and there are different expectations and a different audience.
Just like an interview. Depending also on who interviews him (how they act) and how he feels at the moment because he can be arrogant as hell also.
His words are being put under a microscope and are there to be read for years. You can hear him thinking so many times, he just knows that people interpret differently. But with interviews through the years I think shyness has made way for being reticent/reserved.
And even though he doesn’t care what people think of him, it looks as if he still cares, although he probably doesn’t want to.

I’m glad he’s human, he’s still kinda humble after so many years.

Let me politely step up to the plate with some manners.

Here is a home run for me and an audience view for you.

I am QuietSeven and that IS the only name I am on the prince.org site.
Those who are friends (close) friends know who I am. I am not prince nor ever claimed, so don't hit a foul on that one.

However, as I said, I am QuietSeven and keep me out of your self proclaimed drama.

With manners, take care.

Wouldnt it depend on the mood he was in? Or even the people he was around? I think that he is bashful but not shy like how he was in the very very beginning. I will never really know though. pout

From what I've seen most "very popular" people have the opportunity to watch from VIP areas....stages... and more and are used to watching people from a "safe distance" before they approach the people they feel safe with.....at the same time they are aware that a fan can loose it and jump a stage in a second... lol

"19 and 50 dont have much of a difference."

And these are just physical ages. People have a thousand different ages: mental, emotional, psychological, intellectual/IQ, spiritual, etc. And these are entirely different things imo.

Being shy & a patient .....is one of the most beautiful mixtures, 4 good love.

Not sure if he still is shy..or bashful....however it's attractive I think in a Man.

Shy people seem, to have the most creative mindset. They sit back & think about, things they want 2 do or say , & don't. So when they do come out & speak it blows U away... just @ the right time- Their words, thoughts & actions they have.

I don't believe that Prince would be shy when standing up for something he believes in. Maybe the face of love makes Prince shy.

Rereading this morning..I should clarify this statement.

Prince wouldn't be shy when standing up for valuable point on behalf of anyone...
Although, Prince believes in True Love, He may shy there, because of the intimacy...The sentiment.
