Prince performance of the FOO FIGHTER'S Best of You

lawd....

I love his transition from Watchtower into Best of You at the Superbowl performance.

Honestly, when I watch the clip it totally makes me realize just how much of a genius Prince is. He always makes somebody else's song "His own" when he performs it.

And his guitar solo had alot of 'umph" to it---true, I ain't no musician so I don't know if it was technically great--but I DO know I liked it far better than the one on the Foo Fighter's album.

I swear, if he wasn't dressed like Bea Arthur of the golden girls that night, I would have nearly died from elation.

Prince was SMOKIN' hot and the rain only added to the performance. He didn't let ANY of it slow him down.
Inredible.

I heard from someone that Prince actually sent Howard Stern a CD with the Watchtower/Best-of-U combo asking Howard to guess if it would be played at the Superbowl? confuse Is this true? confuse

yeah, howard stern played a bit of the demo on his show, but of course he had to babble over the whole thing. i heard it and it was cool but frustrating because stern and his goons couldn't keep their big traps shut.

I loved Prince's Superbowl performance. I though he looked adorable soaking wet, and thank God he was alright.

I HATE it when morning talkshow hosts talk over the music.

It's the main reason I listen to NPR news lol

I didn't like it at all. Song snippets are not my thing. Does Prince have ADD?
If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

I totally agree!

I loved the ONA show's in London when he would do the guitar riffs of Zepplins Whole lotta Love and go into Love Rollercoaster!

They naturally sounded his own!

The Superbowl stint is Excellent! headbang

Oh Yeah! And UTCM!!!!!

I can't remember too much bad kissing in GB though. It must have happened.

There's the bit where he hoists chevez up with one leg over his shoulder(the main reason why Rosie Gaines didn't get the part of Aura and had to be in the band instead!)and walks her over to the wall! I don't remember her getting eaten? Will have to check tonight!!! biggrin

I've seen it.
It was great, but a bit methodical for me. It seemed like Prince by the numbers.

The Superbowl was something else. The energy was different. He seemed excited.

Both were great though. One really got a sense that he was going to do great things before Planet Earth was official released.

no, it was praise. howard stern is a big ol' fammy fam. lol

if i remember correctly, prince was less than pleased with the foos' cover of 'darling nikki' and when asked about it, he said something like he wished people who covered his songs would get shot in the head. i thought that was a mite extreme. lol
