great concert...watched it all the time when I was little...Could do the whole concert...step by step

I have the boxed vhs 'Double Live'from Syracuse aswell!..great vid. I remember that it was on UK television on a Sunday afternoon channel 4 I think? unheard of these days how times have changed....23 years ago!!

awsome !!! is that from ur collection ? what i wouldnt give for that poster for the video and for the lazwer disc ! U lucky thing. AND why wont they release it on dvd so younger fans like me can see it. all i got is the few bits of it they put on Purple rain dvd.

It was originally a MTV live broadcast concert. Well, maybe not LIVE, but MTV played it. I have watched this a billion times, but sadly I don't have a copy anymore. Where can this be gotten in the US now?

The opening "Let's go Crazy" is off the chain! The lights come up and flowers fall from the ceiling, Prince is wearing some gigantic, flowing, feathery sculpture on his right shoulder, he has a beauty mark and perfect eyeliner and the ubiquitous high heels, his sideburn is swept into a curlicue...I showed this to a friend years ago and he yelled out approvingly "PURE FAGGOTRY! PURE FAGGOTRY!"

The best part is when the gtr solo comes Prince stops dead center stage while a fan blows the feather shoulder sculpture thing around, and he let's out some a like he was siting on his couch at home... his home being at the top of a mountain inhabited only by gods. In the middle of the solo he bats his eyes at crowd and then suddenly spins and falls to his knees...on to Delirious!

The Revolution is shown in all it's glory (even though I think the best example of the Revolution on film is the America video). Mark Brown is a maniac on bass, Matt is a fucking machine, Wendy radiates good vibes like no tomorrow. The entire thing just kicks ass. Amazing party with awesome music...

There's a lot of cheese in the show, too. One of the things that i always thought was cool about Prince is how he can pull off preposterous shit like clothing or concepts, or ridiculous mid-show monologues. He always looks cool, even when he's rubbing his crotch in fake purple bathwater...He's oddly convincing.

I wish I could get a high quality copy of this.

I've watched this vid to death.....the tv-broadcast via satellite i will never forget. I'm a fan since this day and forever

Yep, I have had this since they released it for sale. I have seen other shows from this tour that was actually better than this. This was towards the end of the tour so they were more tired and run down. U can tell from the earlier shows in the tour. Plus the audiences from those other shows were waaaay more wilder so P took it to another level. But the band was tight on this official release. It's fun to watch. I saw him 4 nights on this tour out here at The Forum in L.A. I wish he would have released one of those shows. It was crazy beyond belief.

You know, it's quite rude to lift pictures and entire threads from other people's
sites you know. You could of at least hosted the pictures yourself instead of
leaching off someone else's bandwidth. (And it's common courtesy to credit
the source when cutting and pasting something wholesale).

It's a great show but some of it was drawn out too long in darkness between songs towards the middle.
