I think Boswitch just hit him up for a donation as a fellow Minnesotan. Prince took some of shit for it at the time but most people concluded that it was probably an accident on Prince's part and that he didn't actually know that Boswitch was republican.

I think Prince just had his people cut him a check to make him go away without giving it much thought. I believe even Prince's publicist said it was an accident of sorts.

I think Prince´s political views are everchanging, he´s a wild mix of a liberal, conservative, libertin, hippy and religiously conservative person.Remember that Ronald Reagan remark he made in the early 80s and his quite conservative patriotism from the mid80s to the mid 90s, which only changed in recent years ( after the Gold Experience days).

It's quite possible that he's neither a Republican nor a Democrat. You don't necessarily have to be one or the other.

Personally, I think Prince's political views as of late lean more to the left, but I get the feeling his views on some issues would align with the right wing.

I know quite a few folks who are VERY politically active and aware but don't swear allegiance to either party. Their political views don't fit the mold of either the left or the right: they are what they are. People like that usually let their intuition guide them, and they generally root for whomever they feel is the best overall candidate for office.

He has an elephantine-ego, but usually behaves like a jackass.
