still foggy on the lyrics
got slapped plenty of times
as a kid, for singing
this song out loud
(not knowing what the hell I was singing)

love this tune

as a child I swore
Prince created "the b-side"
which is a far stretch...
but I do think it's safe to say
he gave it a new definition

I completely agree. Going to the record store to by the 12" single of what was on the radio was only half the fun of what came on the B side.

Hearing Erotic City or Nasty Girls ALWAYS got the party jumpin. Hands down one of my all time favorite songs.

Great song. Simple. Unpolished. And deadly.

Those were the days.

George Clinton did a version of it, it's on the mini-soundtrack cd to PCU

1. Erotic City (single vs.) 4:25
2. Stomp 4:48
3. Tear The Roof Off The Sucker '94 (Give Up The Funk) 5:46
4. Erotic City (Extended Sweat Mix) 6:55
5. Stomp (Sir Nose Goes Off) 4:12
6. Tear The Roof Off The Sucker '94 (Give Up The Funk) (You Know The Words vs) 5:44
7. Erotic City (Super Groovestrumental) 4:36

I NEVER heard George Clintons versioN!!

neither have I sad
I knew that it existed though

also, this guy I used to date
swore up & down that George
recorded it FIRST
I said "au contraire" confused

but I've also learned where
my stopping point is for arguments
(especially when I know what the hell I'm talkin about)
so I let him believe what he wanted
the asshole
GEEZ I can't stand that dude!!!

You should have told him Prince recorded it after watching a George Clinton show. Didn't he say that at the RRHOF induction of Parliament?

There is a reason it's the b side to many a song. "All of my purple life..."
