I have the 2-CD 'Symbolic Beginnings' set which was released in 1995.It contains the entire "Minneapolis Genuis" album that came out in 1985,plus an additional disc featuring even more songs and demos. Here's the full tracklist...
DISC 1--- "Just Another Sucker" "If You Feel Like Dancin" "Lovin Cup" "Games" "Dance To The Music Of The World" "One Man Jam" DISC 2--- "If You See Me" "Games (Original Version)" "I'll Always Love You" "Better Than You Think" "If We Don't" "You Can Be My Teacher" "Love,Love,Love" "Dance To The Music Of The World (Practice Version)" "If You See Me(instrumental version)" "Games (instrumental version)" "Better Than You Think (instrumental version)" Are those the same tracks tracks that you have? Pepe Willie keeps releasing this thing over and over and over.He changes the title,re-arranges the tracklist a little, and adds a new cover photo, trying to fool the fans into thinking they're getting a "new" Prince album. What a loser!

Yeah,I love the instrumental version of "Better Than You Think",which features Prince's gentle guitar-playing.It's dreamy and hypnotic. And the song "Love,Love,Love" is funky as hell and probably would have been a hit in 1976.

The regular 6-song "Minneapolis Genuis" album is a snooze-fest,except for the song "Just Another Sucker".But I dig the 2nd CD because it's much more interesting.

And here's why 'Minneapolis Genius' (released in '86)is such a snooze-fest: many original parts on most of the tracks were re-recorded and "updated" (with a more "contemporary" mix), with the exception of those played by Prince and Andre Cymone. As a result, the production is reverb-drenched and fairly messy. "Symbolic Beginning" (released in '95), on the other hand, is a much more enticing proposition since Pepe Willie chose not to mess around with the songs this time around and the material is more complete. . "You don't frighten us, English pig dogs. Go and boil your bottoms, sons of a silly person."

The first 94 East recordings took place in December 1975,when Prince was about 16 years old,I believe. Many more recording sessions took place in 1976. [This message was edited Thu Oct 31 0:51:13 PST 2002 by DavidEye]

Yeah, One Man Jam is exactly the same as the
Symbolic beginnings 2CD, it's just the tracks are in a different order.
