Just got Chaos & Disorder... Hiya Orgers!
I got home from work today and the copy of Chaos & Disorder I purchased last week had arrived all the way from Japan! I know there are a lot of people out there that dislike this album but knowing that it was supposed to be more of a rock album...I thought it was pretty good! Definitely worth another listen or too!

I love it, the title track in particular is a major grower. Also how can you not love 'dinner with delores feels like some kind of sin, like a brontasaurus she was packing it in'!!! You might not like the taste but I'm still gonna stick your face in this FUNK

Someone gave me this album. I hated it, listened once and that was it. Maybe I should give it one more try. Things change, maybe even my taste in music.

I love this album....especially when I'm upset with the world. I was talking 2 one of our fellow orgers not too long ago (DannyD) and he, too, hated it. By the time the album was over, he fell in love with it. My favorites are the title track, Dinner with Delores, Zannalee, I Like It There, and I Will. **--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••--**--••**--••-

Considering it was thought of as a throwaway back in 1996, it's embedded itself quite nicely into Prince's canon of excellence.

I always loved the first 5 tracks or so on the album. Prince experimented heavily with his sound in the 90's and on Chaos and Disorder he pretty much got things right. Great alubum!

Love it. Love the basic, raw vibe - no excessive overproduction.
Out of all his albums it's the only one where the guitar isn't mixed down and drowned out - for once you can actually feel it. Though not a real true rock album by any stretch, sadly it's the closest he'll ever get to it. PS - anyone know who's playing bass on Dig U Better Dead? Love it

It's a well rounded Prince album. I still play it all the time. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

Did you hear that live version of Chaos and Disorder he had up on 3121.com? It was from the rocking aftershow August 28 at the Indigo where he also did I Like It There. The boot is circulating and is highly recommended if you can get your hands on it. I only mention it because it's a little strange that he's still playing songs from a supposed throwaway release.

Into The Light/I Will is better than anything he's done since the 00's began.

My personal feelings are: NPS is worth listening to if you go straight to The One - which i consider one of the best songs of all time/ever - theres 3 others in there which have reasons to be listened to - but beyond that the album is complete shite - bland, monkey-brained run-of-the-mill-tasteless funk - this thread is about Chaos and Disorder which is a completely different beast - hungry, raw and angry - which i guess in its own rights proves that this crazy mutha-fucka could once really show his range and diversity.... Sadly now as all these sounds are in their totally watered-down state that could be his doom/downfall....

C&D is a good album. There's one track I'd like to bury in the Black Hills ( ). But on the whole, it's pretty slammin'. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

this album is in my top 5...i dunno y it was given a hard time! every track is classy.
lotsa attitude. title track has me giggling my ass off. all those sound effects thrown in...i it when he sings 'he's gay - used 2 mean he's happy', then u can hear big top circus type jingle. the last note is kinda so final, it's like just brilliant stuff.
