Question about Pop Life

At the end of the song Pop Life, what is up with all the people yelling and screaming? Then all of a sudden they start cheering. What's up with that? confuse

I heard somewhere that it is the Rolling Stones crowd that jeered and booed him off stage when he opened for them in the early eighties.

Yep - 2 nights in a row. The second night they brought rotten food to throw too. Jagger was a fan - his fans weren't.

someone made up. It's actually lifted from an old sound effects disc, I think
was of a boxing or wrestling match or something. As to why it's there,
I guess you'd have to ask Prince.

That is what I think to be true as well.

That's a common sound effect thats in movies and stuff. Like the Wilhelm scream.

I think Prince used another one in "lady cab driver" (another common sound effect)
